I'm sorry to say that I did not think to quarantine, and now the two birds are in together. Would it be worth getting them both vet checked?

Thanks, I found a couple of local ones that seem decent, going to check one out today. Good to know that male/female will be fine thanks. Thanks for your help but Wodonga is a bit out of the way for us, we really need a budgie asap.

We recently had to have one of our budgies put down due to arthritis (~12 years old). Now we are looking for a new friend for our remaining budgie. Does anyone around Melbourne have 'pet size' budgies for sale or can recommend somewhere? I would prefer not to buy from a petshop. Also is it best to have male-female pairs? Thanks. Sean
