continue to try nothing... touch the carrot and almost crashed disgusting No chance with apple either

hello Today's update... I think i have resolved the issue of not eating... The owner fed him with small grain, just little round things. without any stuff red or green as in the parakeet mix from Dr Foster. When I asked him what to give him he showed me the Dr Foster but gave me the other one. I asked where I can buy this one and he told me that this is also part of parakeet mix and then he will probably eat what he wants from the mix in the beginning. But day I put in the feeder his grains, and yesterday parakeet mix but all these red and green stuff was on top. When i presented it to him he didn't want to eat. So today i decided to try mix up and all small grains was on top and he ate a lot i showed him and he jumped on the feeder and start to eat and then I posed him on the bottom of the cage with the feeder and he ated again now he is singing when budgie open mouth not very large (not like yawning) is it possible to be positive sign ? when i come to see him and start say Cado pretty bird the sentence he hear all the time or when i put music that he likes or budgies sounds on youtube he start open the mouth and then grinning noise. Is it nervous ?or it can be good feeling ?

sorry for this a little bit :) question, but if my budgie has today poo of dark green color, but absolutely not liquid and normal shape is it okay ?

Hi I have checked but don't see anything - no running nose (how can we see it?) no vomiting, he is not apparently thin... He is eating millet on my hand, sometimes a lot and sometimes not. Today for the first time I have seen him to go to the feeder and eat. Not a lot, just a little. I don't see him drink at all. He is a little more active in the cage and play with his cotton swing what he absolutely adore. He spent night today on the top of the swing. When I talked on phone today he start vocalize, but just a little, not much, so difficult to tell anything. He is kind of fluffing or flying with his wings, he is moving like he is flying but when sitting on the perch. What does it mean ? He is preening a lot and shaking him self after that. He is not sitting back to me now, more and more face me but still not volunteer to come on my hand without any millet on it. If i have millet he is coming and eating. Now he is jumping from perch to the top of swing back and forth. okay right now he is exploring the bottom of the cage, but as soon as i stand up from my desk he flied away and sit on the perch.... Maybe he is better ? OMG !!!!! I hope it is not a canker PS: By The Way, yesterday I tried to touch slowly his beck and he let me doing and even close his eyes - is it good or he was afraid ? Also he is very calm and sit on perch very calmly except when i put "Happy budgies" music on youtube. He start to vocalize first a lot, then start to beat very quickly his wings, many times, and start to kind of dance with his feet and then as his cage is open (I am at home today with him) he flied away !!!! it is okay that behavior ? He is now exploring the house. Antoher quesiton : should I let him do it ? or it is dangerous ? The first time he put him self under a small statue and was very scary and screamed. I am afraid now, but in the other hand I think in the nature they explore by them self everything

Thank you Paulie !!!!! Thinks a lot. I think he ate a little on the second day or third from the feeder. But yesterday I put him in a new cage the big one and even if I think he enjoys him self there he stops eat. It seems that he doesn't understand where to eat not talking about veggies !!!! Not even apple placed on the cage near his toy

Ho Please help Since Saturday nothing is really change. He is still on the perch. Now when I put my hand inside of the cage he turn off. Today I came late from work and he was alone. more than usually. He has music playing all the day and mimic me saying Cado pretty bird. But I am afraid he didn't eat at all !!! When I came back I gave him millet again and let him off the cage. He flied a little from one cage to anothe and still on the top of the cage. When I approach him he turn off the tail to me He is going on finger but i really feel that it is not by pleasure and he is intimidated he didn't touch to seeds and when I gave him the feeder he didn't want to eat.. He's also shaking him-self all the time. Especially when I move my hand to him... What doesn't it mean ? He is angry ? What usually this bird sign mean ? I thought it was just opposit, he is relax. But apparently not. I am very worried He often opens his mouth, very large. What that can mean ?

Today have shown picture on my little one to co-worker who had before parakeet and she told me that it's probably a girl because cere is pink and boys should have blue re-started check the postings again to find if baby boys have pinkish cere :0 What mutation of male parakeet has blue and who has pink ? Just in general

Thank you. I put Cado in his new huge cage . Thank you Finnie !! He seems to really enjoy there. And I bought a big cotton swing online. It's done with cotton in many colors. He LOVES to chew it and starts to sit inside it )

Oh thank you maybe he didn't want because it was not raw. Hee hee hee Will try again. But he doesn't want any lettuce apples. Nothing except seeds Can I give him banana ?

Hello, I tried to give my little budgie (8 weeks + ) shredded carrot, apple in smallest pieces, lettuce and corn (oh by the way, should the corn be raw or boiled?) ... nothing he didn't even try it. I have thrown away the next day Today i tried to give him lettuce (wet in the water) nothing. I put it after in his feeder...when i came back the piece of lettuce was out of feeder how to make them eat veggies ? Maybe he is small ? or maybe because he didn't settle up in the new home ? thank yo

Thank you robin... I don't know if he feels at home. I brought him on saturday and today is monday... he is still not moving a lot and when he sit on a perch he tries to sit back to me. He was alone today as i was at work. I have put him mimic me with a sentence recorded with my voice. When i came back home, he looks like he was happy to see me. He started to agitate and even when I asked him "up" he jumped on my finger but it was only for 1 sec, and then he sit again back to me and seems not even know me I put happy budgies music and he looks very very agitated. I can't understand happy or nervous. But he looks like to was seeking for other birds. I let him go off the cage but as his wings are clipped he can't fly a lot. He found a corner, put him self there and started to scream of distress !!!! Not a happy first try I put him on finger (even if he was initially afraid of me too) but i think he was happy to find me. I calmed him down with my voice and put him on top of the cage. He didn't move at all. I have received today a big cage for him as for past two days he was in his temporary home it is big but he doesn't move i put there two toys. The perch are still not good. I don't know how to cut them and put in other sense. Also I am not sure that he understand how to use water feeder that attached to the cage. I like it a lot but i don't know if he drinks...how to make them understand it ? thank you very much for all your help

Actually I don't know if he likes it In the beginning I thought he likes but he becomes nervous i think - he starts go around the cage up and down and around and start to seek for other brids... is it okay ? He really start to find exit from the cage !!! Do you think i have to continue to let him listen for it ? when i put the second time i think he likes, he doesn't make any sounds that can make me think that he is angry... I let him go off the cage... actually it is the first time, but i think he really try to find other birds. Is it dangerous for him ???

Today when I thought it is a bed time for my budgie I have put the cover over the cage and close the lights. But he started fly around and make "fighting" noise." I have opened the cover and lights. he became calmer. I brought him in the kitchen during our dinner. He started to calm down and put him self in the sleeping position. I have bought him back in his place, cover the cage and put off the lights What does it mean ? He didn't want to sleep ? Should I insist ? or not ? thank you

Today I have noticed that my little one likes water sound. When I washed the dishes he started vocalizing for the first time I have recorded it with his voice and then every time I started recording sounds he vocalizing, especially when he heard his voice. Is it good idea to let him listen it ? I have found waterfall sound on you tube and thought to put him during hours I will not be at home. Is it good or bad idea? And is it okay if he can hear recording with bird voices and his own voice ? thank you

I make him eat. Actually I should bring feeder with seeds close to him on the perch and he started to eat. I don't know if he drinks or not But still something weird : after he eats, and when i talk to him he is opening his mouth like he is eating seeds, but no sound coming off. like he answer me but without any sound is it normal ?

Hello, Finally my little one (who I think is a boy) came home. He is hand fed and tame. he is 8 weeks now I asked here already so many questions and read so many topics that I thought I am completely prepared And actually not :9 He is tame and not afraid human hands. At the breeder home he came on my finger and didn't even want to go back to the cage. He stand all the time in my hands and fingers allowing to touch him and even kiss him Then we came home in car and he was stand on the perch without even moving. At home he didn't move at all, no sounds coming from him. he is very gentle and if I put my hand in cage and push him a little bit he jump in my finger and even ate from my hand and my daughter's one millet. I took him off the cage (his wings are clipped now) he stood very calmly on my hand, he jumped a little on the floor and even ate from the floor (not from the feeder) some parakeet mix (grain) but he doesn't drink (i didn't see him drinking water and he doesn't eat from the feeder is it okay ? In the cage he is not moving a lot, not playing with toys, no sound still coming and he is sleeping all the time !!!!! he closes his eyes almost all the time if he is not in our hands. Now i saw him with open eyes but very calm and on one feet, so I understood that he is tired and covered the cage. it is only 5 pm here. Is it normal, is he healthy ? why he is sleeping all the time and not moving around ? Is it because he is baby ? Breeder gave me a little of the grain mix he is eating and I don't think there is any problem with food. Hello, I have read article on this site Budgie FAQ and of course did not come up with an idea :) :( should I clip or not the wings. I will have a baby of about 6-7 weeks. He is handfed (on the picture he is not scared of the owner) We have window door and usually open it very often to go to the backyard. I have kids that can easily forget it So I think I will be permanently nervous and checking it. But in other hand, it is a pity to see a bird that can't fly:( thank you for all your help on this matter
