i have changed the cage from the big to small and then back to the big. Once he got into the big cage that he used to, he started to flaps his wings madly. I think it was sign of excitement, as he was really !! happy to get back into his cage

Hello, I have another problem now !!!!! since last two days he started biting !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know what to do and very very upset :( He was so kind and sweet!! And now if he doesn't want to step up he is biting... What didn I wrong ? Why it happened after 2 weeks here ? How to tame him now ? What to do ? Will he now continue to bite ? So far he is biting in the cage and not outside if I manage to take him out PLEASE HELP !!!!! I AM SO UPSET Is it reversible ????

I would like to ask a question I thought all baby males have pink cere. These both have already blue. Was it change at 8-11 weeks ? My budgie is 9 weeks and still has pink cere.

When I bought him the cere was all pink, with no doubt that it is a male. At what age it started to change ? At 9 weeks is it too early to say ?

Hello, My budgie now is about 9+ weeks, and I think his (i thought initially that it is he) started to change a little bit. I think it is a little more blueish between nostrils. Very difficult to understand if it is blue ot white - if it is blue it is very light. Before there was nothing white or blue. At what age the cere starts to change. I will put the picture to show. I have clipped in the beginning, but will not do it again when flights grows back. In any case if he doesn't want to stay on your finger he is flying or jumping away. But then he is going to jump and jump on the floor... It is a little bit sad to watch him jumping instead of flying. And I have noticed that he doesn't enjoy off cage time

Hello I have bought a cotton wreath (see below) and put it in the cage. Cado loved it immediately and spent all the time on the top of the wreath. He didn't move from it. Today I decided to remove it from the cage and he seems to be more active I think (or it can be just my idea) but he started to play a little with another toy and flied around more than before. Hello, cado is eating and drinking, chirping a little bit, especially when I put water sound music, but he still is very quiet. The most of the day he is sitting on the cotton wreath. He is not touching veggies or fruits or cuttlebone. He still jump on my hand when there is millet on it but never if nothing. I know that I am asking the same thing but it is already more than one week passed and the progress is small. Maybe I am mistaken ? The only thing when I touch his beck and tummy I think he likes it. He close his eyes.... again is it per pleasure or per scary ? I'm also worried that I've started training her too soon - I started pretty much the day after he arrived because he was hand fed. Should I continue now, or just stop everything ? Should I let him millet from my hand ? thank you

Hello A week already passed since Cado has being with us. I think he's better now. He starts to vocalize. He's less afraid and when the cage is open he goes sometimes outside of the cage. I have few questions: 1. He is sitting on my hand only if there is a millet. Then he jump and don't want to leave. But never if nothing. Is it because I press him since the beginning ? I could not put off my hands during 72 first hours ? I didn't force him but suggested . What can I do now ? How to make him sit to my hand and understand Up command 2. He seems do not enjoy cage off time. Is it evaluate he's clipped wings ? Or it us new for him ? He just flies a little and then back on top on the cage. And doesn't move then 3. He usually sit on top if the cotton wrest highest place in the cage Thank you very much !!!!

I bought parakeet mix but he only eats some millet and hulled oat from it... i am interested too what kind seed i can feed also he doesn't want to try fruits or veggies

Hello, I checked online but still didn't understand. I would like to give Cado quinoa, can i cook it ? Tried to give raw but he didn't like it i think it is tough to eat uncooked Can I cook it ? Currently I have bought parakeet mix at Drs Fosters site. he eats usually small round grain (i guess it is millet) and oval small grain (i think it is hullet oat) but he leaves all red, greren yellow stuff. I don't know what it that. I bought it because there are many vitamins etc If in the future I will prepare my seed mix, what kind of seed (basic seeds) should I buy and where ? I don't have green hand to grow anything myself soI prefer to buy On Drs fosters site, I saw while millet, red millet and hullet oat, that's all... Should I just buy it, mix it and that's all ? is it enough ? Should I add vitamins ? if yes, which ones ? Also what exactly pellets are ? are these red, green and yellow stuff in parakeet mix ? thank you

You have just remove the whole thing from big door and change ? Hi, I have a question regarding seed coral. I really like the idea, but I don't know how it works. I have put the seed coral outside of the cage. I think it is too big for my cage to be inside. First the opening for the feeders are a little to high and when i put the seed coral it is stand even more higher, because the bar to put it. I think Cado don't even understand what is that and how to go inside of the feeder? Did you have this problem ? Maybe because he's a baby ? what should i do ? leave it or remove it ? Maybe I have to find a perch close to the seed coral feeder so he can sit and understand that there is a feeder there ? Also between the butoon of the opening and the seed coral there is a space. Will be not put his head there ? Right now I am looking for diffrent perches that are coming with the cage. Same for cup for water what is placed on the cage (petco's model) i really don' know if he understand what is that... thank you for your help

Hello, I gave Cado the bath yesterday and he really enjoyed it. Today when I came back from work and he was alone i decided to give him a bath again as he seems to enjoy it. But he didn't want it. I actually put a plate with the water on the floor and he tried but didn't want. And he sneezes i think, but not sure, is it normal? He is not sick ?

Hi Phoebe, thank you for your comment !! So that's mean you have light on all the time ? the whole day ? We don't have any other animals... Our house is a little cold but i have asked and the place of the breeder is even colder we usually maintaining 67 during the day when we are in and 65 when we are off Our living room has corners without any sun but i think it is a little to dark, especially in the middle of the afternoon.

Hello, I am trying to find a better place for Cado inside of the house. Actually when I am home I can bring the cage with me in the room where I am. Where to leave him when we are out and during the night? is it possible to place the cage in the kitchen ? I am trying to eliminate all pans and skillets with PTFE is it possible to put the cage close to the window, will he not be too cold ? The general temperature in the house when we are in - 65F (18C) and during the evening - 67 (19-19.5) Our living room is pretty dark, is it okay to leave him during the day ? Also, if you are going to someone place at let's say 7pm, what do to with the cage and budgie. Should we leave light for him ??? I can put night light but it is still not enough of lights. thank you

He took his first bath !!!!!and really enjoyed it !!!!!!!!!111 (yupee) and he explored the new environment.
