hi everyone i have a weird question to ask, my breeding pair 1 purple greywing (hen) and skyblue greywing (cock) had chicks a while ago. all of them were greywings except for 1 i named her speckle. she had a whit head with small black speckleson head. She had whit wings with large black speckles on wing all her primary feathers were black with a purple tinge also her tail. they have had a few like this while breeding. can this happen? is it rare? is it common? middle: purple mum left:skyblue dad

hi everyone i was just wondering what show breeding is,i thinks its some show the budgies compete against for the looks of budgies. Also i have another question that my friend said are the show budgies bred to bigger size, and if so what does a show budgie need to win a competetion and were are the biggest shows?

hi dave i have got A part concrete/dirt floor (planning to put concrete) The mice dig holes into avairy The wire 1.5 cm wide(very small) I have tried to clean out the boxes,covering holes with dirt, sticking rocks into the holes and putting budgie feathers in the boxes( to get scent) hi budgie lover thankyou for your help although i have dogs and chickens staying in the yard as they will eat it but thanks for the good idea

Hi guys, I have a problem with my nexting boxes mice keep invading my nesting boxes. This is interupting breeding and the bufgies and were they sleep the mice keep eating the eggs and hurting the mothers. I have washed the boxes 3 times in the past month please help! P.S: please send me a personal message or on this forum

I have got a problem. Mice keep taking over the nexting boxes in my avairy they are interfearing with the budgies breeding as they can't stay in there at night. is there anyway to stop mice coming in?, i have cleaned the boxes 3 time in 1 month. PlEASE HELP!

moving the chick into a proper nextbox might help.i use to clean out nexting boxes and leave the chicks in a open bowl then when it was clean i would put the chicks back in and the mums would take the babies back but depending or your type of cock or hen this could be diffrent but the baby must be moved to a nesting box please let me know how you go

birds will do some crazy stuff do not leav them in a house alone but thats okay.... it might be breeding season for her

sounds like mites and its okay sometimes bird have weak hearts and will die for no reason and were did you get them from? were they from home or petstore? this can be the answer please let me know how you go....

hi im roseydoo and i am new to this budgie forum i have 15 budgies and a lovely avairy in my backyard i breed budgies and i have only had 2 die in the past 3 yrs my budgie colours include yellow,green,blue,whit,black,purple and dark blue i would love to get a macaw but i have got budgies for know i am planning to hand rear 2 baby chicks in summer to learn about chicks. these are some of my budgies....

middle: mum,purple left: dad,light blue sorry i dont have a picture excalty so those are the parents i will take a picture next time i get a baby from breeding..

yes she was like that but was a bit more white and less black but she was purple sadly speckle had died but i would still like to find out thanks..

i guys i have got a greywing or line pair the hen is purple and father is sky/aqua blue. They are very good breeders and always give me healthy chicks the one thing i noticed is that 1 of my old babies i got from then was not a greywing. i nicknamed her speckled. she had a white head with few black speckles on head she had white wings and black speckles of patches. her primary feathers were balack and had a puprle stomach and back. im still confused on how this happened is it a mutation or mix up or does the parent have a pied/speckled gene. P.S speckle was not a runt and one of the first hatched and im not good with genes markings and stuff.
