  1. I am not a breeder, but I really love my Budgie(Sgt. Pepper). We have had him for over a year and a half now and we got him from a locally run pet store, not a store chain. He has been through many molting cycles where at times he looks like he took the time to spike his hair. My problem is in the last two days I have found two feathers in his cage that have either fallen off or he has pulled out. I know these are not normal to molting, I have all of his old flying and tail feathers to compare them too. One looks like a colorful wing feather that is still in the shaft(new feather not released from its sheathe yet) and the other is one of the white wing feathers and at the underside of the feather the center shaft of the feather looks bloody. Both feathers do not have a tip to the feather that is normally there when the feather is regularly molted. I am sorry I do not know all of the technical terms to tell you. As an analogy of what i am trying to say is that the end of the feather seems to be like a baby tooth falling out, not a full tooth being pulled out. I would post a picture but I am currently at work and have no way to currently get a picture. I will try to post one tonight. Is there a reason to be concerned? I love my Pepper and don't want anything to happen to my boy!
