    Nape Feather Loss

    Hi There, I'm new to this forum and have a small mystery I am trying to solve. I have two budgies in an outdoor aviary. The female has started losing feathers around the back of her neck (nape) and I cannot find the cause. A previous female (now deceased) also had the same issue, but the male does not seem affected. I suspect perhaps the male is overplucking her? Or could it be mites? Although I cannot find any reference that mites would affect only that area? I'm pretty new at budgie care. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, K.
