hi, i recently got my first budgie, smash, and a few days after i got him one of other half's rats bit his leg. he ended up loosing a toe over it all and was rather aggresive towards anything/ one. smash has had his wing clipped to make it easier to handle him. he comes out of the cage of a day and has to be caught to go back in(he cant fly back up to it). It has taken a while for him to start settling back down. he still screams at my hand but is starting to sit around for longer times. like i said he is getting handled daily whether he likes it or not and is coming around. be patient and persistant - i still get biten by smash daily lol, but its getting softer. maybe use a towel or cloth over your hand to stop the bites.

photobucket is giving me the option of small , or tiny and will not let me change the picture size for some reason, am taking the pics on my other halfs camera and it says its on 12mp but there blurred something shocking, until i locate cam charger i cant get them any bigger. interesting female seems to be the picture of the sex's lol, will try again shortly to get a big picture up

Hi all, im new here. This is Smash, my 1st budgie. - named smash because when i got him i had his wing clipped so he could come out and that resulted in him not landing too well and the name smash just seemed to fit. I was told he is only young but have no idea on age. The petshop people said they think its a male? will take a better picture and put it in the sexing section later. I hope the image is the right size, photobucked is playing up lol. Smash recently had a bit of an argument with one of the pet rats, and is now recovering from an almost severed toe. He is still a little shaken from it all, he flew up onto the rats cage as it looks a little like his, and the rat (socks) grabbed him, which is strange as they were getting on so well. He did loose a lot of blood, and is picking at his wound and i know he is uncomfortable but um unsure on what to actually do with it? have a picture of the leg if anyone may be able to advise what to do, i can send it to you.
