How Often Does A Healthy Budgie Drink?
How often should a healthy budgie drink water? Does it depend on the weather? Apologies if this is a really silly question...

Muppet And Cinnamon!
I had her (and was observing her) for a day and a half and she hadn't eaten. I guess I probably was pretty stressed too, really wanted to see her eat. I'd spread seed and greenery around her cage (Floor and in containers) and she showed no interest at all. Every time she heard Muppet n the other room she'd start climbing around the cage (looking for an exit I think). Like you I hope they both remain happy and healthy. Only wanted to do the best for her.

Muppet And Cinnamon!
http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt291/l...ar/DSC_0009.jpg A new addition to the flock. http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt291/l...ar/DSC_0006.jpg Relaxing with Muppet. http://i621.photobucket.com/albums/tt291/l...ar/DSC_0005.jpg Yawning after a tiring preening session. Hi guys. Thought I'd share some pics of my new budgie Cinnamon. Cinnamon was in her own cage in a separate room but hadn't eaten any food for around a day and seemed pretty stressed. For her own health I decided to break quarantine and move her in with Muppet (after careful observation and a meeting outside the cage). Please don't hate me... Happily 15 minutes after being moved in with Muppet she was eating, and she's been happily eating and drinking ever since. Muppet has been a great older brother and only seems to get cranky when she does something dopey like taking off and landing on his head!

Avian Vet In Perth
Hi guys, just wanted recommendations for an avian vet in Perth? North of the river if possible. Don't actually need one right now but I want to know a good vet if the need arises!

Greetings And Salutations!
Thank you everyone for your welcomes and advice. I have indeed gone to Libby to pick up my new addition and the little hen is truly a beautiful little girl. She's in her separate cage sleeping now. I've put her seed and water both in the normal "feeders" and in little bowls on the floor of the cage. I've followed the forum's advice about quarantine and I've got my two little guys in separate cages. I can't wait to introduce them in 6 weeks or so! I'll post pics of the little girl as soon as I can!

Current Babies
They are so beautiful Kaz! I really like these two: As you know I'm an extremely experienced breeder and budgie judge (not) and I believe the technical term for these two is "soooooofreakingcute"! Congratulations on your beautiful (expanding) flock. Rudy

Greetings And Salutations!
Thank you everyone for making me feel so at home and welcome. I spent most of last night reading old posts and I've learnt a lot already. I'm at the point where I now know that I know very little if that makes sense... Lobostar

Different Budgie Breeds?
Thanks for the answers! Where is the best place for me to get seed? Are there any brands you would recommend?

Different Budgie Breeds?
Looking around the site I'm amazed by the beautiful budgies that everyone has. I notice most of them seem much fatter and seem to have a bigger head then the ones I've kept... Is this a different type of budgie to mine? And is it okay to keep these different "types" of budgies together? Reason I ask is that I'm looking to add a new hen to my home and I want to make sure both my current budgie and her will get along. I also feed my budgie on different types of seed (both from the supermarket and stuff I buy at a bird "specialist") along with a supply of different fruit and cuttlebone. Am I not feeding my pets correctly? I mean could that affect their growth?

Greetings And Salutations!
Thanks for the warm welcome and breeder suggestions. Before I approach (or PM) one of the breeders, I just wanted to ask a silly newbie question - so here goes... Do you think they'll mind selling to a pet owner like me? I'm not a breeder (yet - wait until I get a new house next year he he) and I really only want a budgie as a pet, so he (she in this case) can hang with Muppet, my fiancee and I. Do you think they'll mind?

Muppet Or Muppetina?
I've had my beautiful budgie for 4/5 years. I've always thought he was a boy - he's very noisy and tends to not bite me as hard as any of the hens I've had. Now I'm on this fantastic forum, I thought I'd ask the experts! Is Muppet a boy?

Greetings And Salutations!
Hi Daz and Elly, thanks for the rapid advice! I'm about to post in the Wanted Budgie forum. I've pretty much always had a pair of budgies since I was young (boy and girl). I love the way the hens take charge and pretty much investigate every nook and cranny in the house for possible nesting sites. Do you think it will be okay to introduce a new hen to my bird? (After quarantine?)

Greetings And Salutations!
Hello everyone! I've been a budgie owner since I was 12. I am now 31 and I'm the proud father of Muppet the budgie. Sadly his girlfriend Donut escaped when they were on holidays at my Mum's house, and I had a horrible experience with a recently purchased baby budgie, who sadly passed away. Muppet lives in a cage at home but he is let out every day. He is half-tame (and by that I mean he choses when he wants to perch on my finger and eat from my hand LOL) and happily does laps of my living room both in the air and on the carpet. I'm looking for a new companion for Muppet and am loving reading all the wonderful information on your forums! Look forward to chatting with all of you, Lobostar
