  1. I took the pics no problem, but I'm having trouble with either my phone (camera) or Photobucket. It's uploading pics that I don't want Computers eh? I will get them posted as soon as I figure this out.
  2. You have quite a clan happening there. You also have some magnificent colours, your very fortunate. I find colours of birds are very therapeutic . Not just the colours though, observing them and looking after them is too. How long have you been breeding them?
  3. Wow Lobostar, I just love your birds. You are very lucky to have such pretty colours. :bluebudgie:
  4. Cool Lobostar, it's a pretty name. Thanks Kaz and Elly, she is a beautiful girl. I will take some more pics and try again. Thanks also Budgiehero. :bluebudgie:

Thanks Elly, I haven't entered the photo of the month comp but would like to. I am a novice here, so why would you recommend taking the box out? Sorry Kaz, my bad. My "old" budgies are Squeak: The violet spangle Marglo: Lutino in the nesting box Cornelius: Cobalt spangle Tilt: Recessive something pied (Told you I'm a novice) Ruffles: The same as above I think, she's violet and white. The "new" budgies are Homer: Lutino Cinnamon: still not sure, I was thinking sky blue dilute Jasper: He's white with black eyes, I can't remember what he is. I also have Chad and Lily. I know I have a lot to learn so I will read the posts here, as they are very informative.

The nesting box is in the "old cage" and I've had those budgies for about two years. The new budgies are in the "new" cage.

I have posted some pics before of my budgies but I have aquired some more in the past week or two. I can't seem to help myself when I go to the pet store to buy seed or accessories for my birds and fish. I see them cramped in the tiny cages and the colours are usually what catches my attention. So here goes............
  8. Hi everyone, I have just aquired a few more budgies and I was wondering if you could help me figure out what my beautiful new girl is. I was thinking dilute, sky blue, but I'm still new to this. Thanks, Lynneski
  9. I love the first photo, your babies are wonderful!!
  10. To my knowledge they were not a pair, she was always cranky and wouldn't let anyone go near her. Only since she laid the egg the other day has she been with squeak and my cobalt spangle Cornelius has been feeding her. I thought she was a loner. I'll just wait and see what happens next. Thanks for your help
  11. Has anyone any idea why my lutino yellow girl (Marglo) would have laid an egg two days ago, then mated with my violet spangled boy (Squeak) today? I'm guessing the first egg is infertile so this may be her second chance?
  12. That is sooo cute. I'm very happy for you. My lutino is sitting on one egg and I don't think she will produce more at this point. I was wondering though, doesn't mummy get a bit cranky if you touch her eggs and/or babies? I'm just leaving mine be for now although I do check in the box. I don't want to tempt fate. Congrats once again
  13. Thankyou once again. I guess I will learn how to tell all that in good time.
  14. Thanks. Do you know what sort these guys are though? I'd really appreciate your thoughts. I love looking at other people's pics of their budgies, there are some really great colours there.
  15. not clearwing or greywingand albino only if eyes are red. Lily has black eyes. Squeak is a beautiful boy, he has mainly violet flecks on his wings. Thankyou for your help I have posted pics of my other birds, can you help me with those too please? Thanks, Lynneski
  16. This is Lily This is Squeak Apart from the obvious (The white one) does any one have any clues as to what varieties of budgies I have? I would appreciate your help please. Thanks, Lynneski
  17. This is Cornelius, Tilt and Ruffles Until yesterday, my yellow girl was in the box scratching around and just 'sitting' there. Last night I noticed an egg in there so she is sitting on that right now. She is over 1 year old but I hadn't noticed her being paired up with anyone. I introduced Cornelius and he was feeding her a couple of days ago. He has beed pulling the wood shavings out of her nest with his beak and scratching the entrance to her box with his feet to keep it clean. I thought maybe he has OCD or something. This is Chad (The Paddlepop Lion)I apologise for this last post, I am just learning to post pics here.
  18. Hi all, I found your wonderful site this morning and as I have a few beaut budgies in my "flock" I thought this might be a good place to start as they are showing signs of breeding. It's also interesting to find out what other people are up to in the way of budgies. I also have 5 Indian Ringnecks, 2 Painted Firetail Finches (with 5 eggs due to hatch any day now) and a Rainbow lorikeet named Buddy. I may need your help to distinguish what type of budgies I have. I bought most of them as their colours were different and appealed to me. Some of them were living in petshops in terrible conditions. They are all happier now living with me and are growing feathers back and one (his name is Tilt) is straightening his head up. Well I will check out the site more and hope to get some advice soon.
