  1. I would say its a result of inbreeding.
  2. They look so healthy well done Maddy. Corie.
  3. we have always had the warn status.................... only you see your own warn status. It applies to when we have trouble makers on the forum and they get a formal warning ( or two or three or four ) before we have to resort to banning them for outrageous behaviour on the forum. If nothing has happened to yours it just means you have behaved yourself well while here okay thanks Kaz... Corie.
  4. Thats it Kaz,anyway by age 4 you wont need her/him to breed with anymore as your birds should have improved by your parings. PS.. Whats the go with this warn status, ive noticed no one else has it and you guys have never used it..its been 2 years since i joined... Corie.

Hello you live in the same suburb as me,we should catch up for abit of budgie talk. and to check out each others set up. PM me if your interested. Cheers Corie.
  10. This is what my birds get daily,it may change depending on what ive got, but mostly stays the same except the beetroot it is only added once a week because it is high in acidity. The smaller bowls are for the breeders the ones on the left have alot more because their raising chicks, the bigger bowl goes in the flight, besides the veg it has a good whack of garlic powder,1 heaped teaspoon of egg and biscuit and 2 heaped teaspoons of budgie starter.
  11. My breeding cabinets out of use at the time(old photo). It is a bank of 9.They are the same as Matt Welshmans. This pair didnt click the hen is very argressive ive tryed her with 4 different cocks she just attacks them. The blue/cin cock is now raising 4 chicks,1 fostered, at the age of 8 months,i like to keep the nests to 4 chicks when possible. This is a picture of a homebred grey cin hen at 5 months, she is now 9 months and will be put down in a few months time. This picture is of one of my stud birds Grey normal,he was linebreed but unfortunaly he went infertile before the 100% breed so most of my normal greys are 75% him. And a few of his chicks.

Yes you can breed with them just dont double up on the fault, breed them with clean capped birds.
  16. Ive been reading this with interest. I fostered a chick to another nest and it is developing very poor compared to its siblings, same feed. I have noticed the cock is lazy and wont do much feeding,he leaves it mostly for the hen,he pigs out on the soft food and greens but keeps it for himself.First time foster not good enough to breed and terrible foster cock hes gonski. Were as the original cock feeds his young really well,as soon as he gets it he passes it on.. The foster chick will never reach his genitec make up cause he is missing out.. But its all about genes, you cant turn a pony into a racehorse cause you feed it better. 50% genes 50% beak a dont think so.. Off topic im haven trouble once the first three are hatched the remaining eggs get pooping and im getting dead in shell, how do you limit this..
  17. 6th gear is for freeway use just drive it as a 4 speed, slot down to 3rd for over taking, not sure how its geared but you can grab 5th around 80ks..most of all listen to the engine it will tell ya when you need to change.. ps...that dont mean rev the sh!t out of it till there nothing left than change, but you new that...
  18. hi,ive found putting their seed and water in the indoor flight they go in for their finale feed then roost.
  19. I had a bird a few years ago that broke its neck because of hawks attacking at night scaring the flock,it was terrible to see the poor thing how he was,he seemed fine but his neck was just rubber.I new right away what should be done,he had no chance.....okay..heres the part no one wants to here hold the bird as normal, put your thumb and forfinger under neck then pull and twist. And just for the i cant do that group would you prefer him to starve to death,or take him to the vet were they will charge big dollars and do the same thing. When you breed livestock you have to move on sh!t happens.
  20. This is a great Kaz,cant wait for the next interveiw. Thanks to all the breeders that provide this excellent information.

welcome id give him a week to relax and get farmilar with his surroundings, then slowly start.
  22. the birds are very nice, just a quick warning they can fly at that age so shouldnt be handled in the open.
