That would be about the time you seen the radio in my shed Mark , me and the birds couldn't live without it mate. Going to wait another month or so before i put that male down i got off you. Hows the breeding going has that Welshman pair started to lay? Did you lose any birds in the extreme heat we had i lost seven

I would put your perches in the aviary the other way round so they can fly the length.

Love this hen, 2010 bred lacewing,she has bred some beauties as well.

I've rung around 20 with 2013 rings, must of the birds are going through a heavy moult at the moment. You'll have to pop over for a beer mate.

It's all the problems people have that colony breed , we as the providers to the birds must do the best thing for them and colony breeding is a disaster waiting to happen. The reason we bang on about it so much is either we have done it before and have experienced the nightmares or we constantly hear of other peoples problems that try to go down this path. Nice aviary by the way.

If you had no intention to breed , than why leave the nest boxes in the aviary , responsibility lies with you.
These sort of posts do my head in , ask questions after the event , responsibility my friend is yours.
If you don't smoke it , there is no need to know.
