Hawk Delema
I just got home and found out that my parents and brother scared a hawk away today. It was hangin on the front of my cages and 20 minutes after they scared it away it was back it sits on the gutter for 10 minutes then on top of the cage for about 5 then latchs onto the front of the cage(im guesin to try and bite its way through the wire). im getting really worried it will be able to bite through the wire and massacre my birds. Does anyone know how i can get it to go away?? im goin to be putting up old CDs outside tomorro morning.

Judgements Please?
What is that in the bottom of the cage???
-
Nestboxes
i use both designs your talkin about i find the ones that slide open from the end are much better as it is harder for them to escape and easier to clean. one way of stopping the birds from opening the lid on the other ones is to put a brick or something along those lines on top of it that is wat i do. that way the lid is way to heavy to open for them.

Multiple Breeding Cages As Interim Aviary
Hey cem i divided my cages(pretty much the same size as yours) earlier this year i went down to bunnings and bought some thin (about 2-4 mm thick) wood sheets they may even cut it to size for you if you know your dimensions. The birds will just keep flying into the plastic if they can see throuhg it.

Correct Breeding Age Of Budgies

Cage Size Question
I think that cage is fine pearce if your brirds are tame and you let them out at least 4 times a week for at least 45 mins each time. I try to let my indoor birds out once a day at least(sometimes they get let out twice and on weekends they have the cage door open all day). I keep 2 of my indoor birds in a cage about that size they love it and our cockatiell lives in a cage about the same size just taller and he doesn't mind. The only problem would be if you wanted to breed them in it then it wouldn't be big enough.

Preparing For My Breeding Season
I don't give them grit but I have been told that zeolite is a good substitute AND that it's recyclable, all you have to do is wash it! I use old plastic signs dad had nd then i just scrape the droppings off. I also put my seed dispensers into a chinese container (obviously without the lid) this makes it super easy to clean and it give them something to stand on when they eat it works really well for me.
