I knew it... thanks for that... But could someone explain why they would sit on top of each other?

I have had these two budgies for a while but I've been confused in knowing whether or not they are female or male... When I bought them I was told that one was a male and one was a female but after reading the forums, I thought that they were both females... the confusing thing is that I've been told by a family member that they have seen one of them sitting on top of the other... Here are some photos... Hope that there is someone that can help me...

Looks great!! A question I want to ask is how do you clean your tarp? Change it once in a while or like hose it down?

Thanks for the info... although the plastic ones are easier to clean, I guess that budgies would prefer to have wooden ones since they are more like their original nests in the wild.

I've been searching through some websites and some pet stores and I've seen that some people are using different types of nesting boxes for their budgies. The main difference is that they are either made from wood or plastic. I was wondering which one is actually more preferable for budgies.

Wow... that is a large number difference. But if it is the same sex then it sorta makes sense since there wouldn't be fighting for partners and for nest boxes.

Another thing I would like to ask is what to do with the budgies in the aviary when there are extreme temperatures (in summer/winter)? Like in 40 degree heat with wind or in winter where there is 12/14 degrees in temperature.

After going around the forums, I've seen quite a few people having their breeding cabinets in a shed with the rest of their budgies... do these breeding cabinets have to be close to the aviary or can they be somewhere else (eg. under shelter, etc.)?

I guess I should learn a bit more before I start... and maybe get some more budgies as right now I only have 2, where both are females...
