  1. Albino hen with blue leg ring isn't that 2004?
  2. Yes it was very extreme, we got 13 inches of snow some places more the worse is yet to come is the flooding when it warms up and melts the rivers and streams will over flow plus all the ice tht is already in the rivers that is frozen. Do you have problems getting your mail, getting to the shops etc? Also does it ever effect your essential services like power and phone? My hubby just loves your shepherd, how old is it? The other dog looks a bit like a Kelpie, what sort is it? Questions!quesions! I am glad to report it is now a comfortable 26 degrees here now, I thought I was going to melt...we are now due for temperatures in the mid 30's but the poor South Aussies are still in for hto weather over the 40's for the next week! I have only seen snow once and just adore your photo's!
  3. Poor Boris  Have you tried moulting aid made by vetafarm?
  4. If it is hot where she is she may have just "gone to ground" so to speak to keep herself cool. If so just leave her be till she cools. Hope you and the kids are o.k. And Tilly of course.
  5. You may have already read my thread but I have bred an Albino Hen to a T.C.B. cock..here is the thead: http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=23059 This pairing gives the following result: 25% Clearbody/Ino cocks 25% Ino cocks 25%Clearbody hens 25% Ino hens I have ended up with 2 Albino hens and a T.C.B. cock.
  6. I got all my inside birds and brought them inside and put an air con in with them...so you're not the only one. Sorry to hear of you losses that is very sad
  7. Oh I am so glad to hear it!
  8. 42 here at the moment. Even 3 degrees makes a difference, I feel for you guys....
  9. Awful isnt it? It is 41 here already. Yesterday I went to my onsite caravan, an hour away and took the air conditioner out and brought it home. All my birds are now in my didning room with it on in cages chattering away but nice and cool now, I dont have any eggs so no cahnce of eggs drying out. The others I rescued are in a hallway with an evaporative cooler!
  10. HA ! I just put it back! Maybe I'll wait a few more days... I was going off your photos which showed babies who werent fully feathered I better go take some new ones then! (Like I needed an excuse)!
  11. HA ! I just put it back! Maybe I'll wait a few more days...
  12. Fledged as far as I am concerned only applies if they have all their feathers. Until they are fully feathered I would leave the nestbox and keep putting back the ones who arent fully feathered........re sexes...post clear picture of each cere and I will help. PS watch in case its the mum who is pushing the chicks out. If this is the case and the Dad is a good feeder, AND you are worried about another clutch...remove the Mum and let dad finish raising the chicks. Chicks are fully feathered, but the opposite is happening mum keeps making them go back into the nestbox! I don't mind putting it back but as the other lot of rescue chiks are doing well I thought it would be o.k?
  13. Seeing as they have all fledged I have removed the nestbox, it is just far too hot at this time of year to encourage any more breeding. Does anyone see this as being a problem?
  14. I just looked in the nest box and there was nobody in there  All three chicks are snooping around for foor under the watchful eyes of mummy and daddy, very cute! I will take some pics later, but it is a hard to keep them still at the moment!
  15. Best of luck I'll be thinking of you all 0x0x0x0

I put my hand up it was me who said "M.D.F. and Craftwood are toxic".....it was on **Liv**'s Tiel forum!
  20. I am so bad at this type of thing...what happens to the T.C.B. part?
  21. I have an Albino chick that I bred myself and her parents are T.C.B. and Albino. I have a young Alan Hawes Lutino cock and his parents are both Lutino. What chicks would I expect in breeding the two together? A long time in the future I might add!

Millett seed sprigs worked for me last time I had a new budgie that wouldn't eat, it took her about two weeks before she settled.
