Can I clarify something first. You don't buy show birds as they cost thousands of dollars. You buy stock birds. Birds that breed show birds. I have paid up to $300au for a stock bird which has done me well. But the best start was a cock bird for $80 and three hens for $30 each. I won Champion Young Bird of show with one of the chicks. I see a lot of stock birds on the forum. Birds that look good but have some faults. If you put two very good birds togeather that have different faults you could breed a bird that has none. This is your show bird. Well said Daz. daz if you have nice wings but small spots on a bird and a bird that has big spots yet lower drop on the wing could you get a good rezult or better to not breed the lower droped wing bird i ask as i been told breed birds with tight wings to birds with looser wings to perfect the error is that **** or not?

i do have show type birds but not alot would not be of show standed but all i need to up grade size all club rung im just playing at moment with type and colour then when i get it wright i will start from scratch and do my thing with real birds want to find a decent breeder out my way first its hard with only feet as tranceport :budgiedance: your welcome anyway good luck with everything you guys

hi ya all guys , i breed birds budgies, teails but the possabilitys expand dayly lol ..im in melbourne south easten suburbs ,gipsland region my birds are a mix of not up to standed show types and larger than average pet type although now and again a small bushie will surfuse. i have a mixed aviry of all difrent types of genetics going off and of course familey trees. birds come tame or for breeding and i will even breed a certain typing if really wanted i stager my breeders so usually have something if not summer as i dont breed in the hot(dec through to april ) i do know of a few breeders around all very welcoming i dont have any green as such only t2 yellows or goldenfaces mostly blues violets mauves and greys so on in that direction going into grey wings ,clear wings so on your always welcome even for a cuppa

i have a query as to the hen i just helped pass her egg? could it be possable she has a egg still their....it is after all due another one today.and she still bobin tail again since about 9.30 pm Thanks for sharing... and it would be quite possible she has another egg. Do you have any calcium? You can pop a drop on her beak... this will help her pass anymore with no trouble. And feed her plenty of fresh calcium rich foods. The bath for her sounds lovely... my only concern would be putting her in the water WITH the oils... If it were me, I'd use just plain warm water to sit her in... as I'd hate for the oils to react to her or cause further problems. You could still have some in another small bowl beside her, but I personally wouldn't sit her in it... Purely my opinion... not sure if it's worth worrying about though. thank you all my birds have calciam blocks cuttle bone fresh bread and grass seed i grow freash dayly the barth thing it is a very real concern and you are right animals do react diffrently to us humans..but i can asure you i have been dealing with herble remidies since very young and the pepermint oil i use is of the most purerest form not shop brought as was the lavender i use a herble home made spray when cleaning nest boxes to i only recently found it it kills red might i plan to post it soon thank you maesie i will do what you said and see how i go as for another bath that would not be good i know that the vet would be my next awnser :hap:
