Time To See Chicks
no chick four is cobalt so its clasifyed as violet . violet 1 factor they greys are all difrent colours and one of them is carrying the mauve but it wont come out fully till at least second molt one is very blue grey and one just plain grey the last lot of chicks my dark grey she has turned out mauve of the most beautiful purple im cut as you all tell me she is grey but if you saw her in real life you would know she is not i have tryed time and time again to get a picture of her true coulor but with no luck id love to share her true colour as i have never seen a bird of her colouring before and am wondering if she may be infact a violet grey or is that the same thing i was told recently that mauve and violet are the same thing but i was always taught diffrently but am now questioning myself as she is so purple but dark grey all at once all the greys chicks have the deep cobalt or violet through out the bodys so will only become more pronounced i cant wait to see in three months time even the normal grey is very light feather opacasity (ha my own word ) her is my mauve from first clutch

thanks i just sold a heap of my birds getting ready to start new i have only kept birds i have breed myself and ones with background i made a deal with myself to make my venture easyer to only buy if i at least know what mum and dad were other wize just wait after all i get from 3 pairs up to 21 babys each sitting give or take one or two so thats heaps to keep me busy i only put 3 pairs up at on time but i stager them so my chicks that are new hatch a week before the ones leaving nest this way i dont end up neglecting anyone and its not time consuming unless i want it to be still have a few to sell just deciding which ones i wont be able to breed till next year exept a few birds i kept as my newbys are all 08 birds

Quickie Question About Genetics!
you wrote he is from a yellow/green greywing x yf2parblue spangle hen so if he has a cremeno brother thats from the yellow cock oviously so the chicks are 50 percent split/greywing split ino split cinnnimon /rec pie so dad and mum were split rec pie which does not suprise me as most yf2 parblue spangles are breed from a sky violet or cobalt spangle x yf2 par blue rececive pie matting hope that helps um im not sure but the hen must be split ino as well as rececive pie to produce a cremeno i could be mistacon on that mabe he can produce ino hens only if he was split and hen was not i would need to look at my papers for that not to good at memorizing stuff im not formilular with im sure someone will corect me if im wrong ....please some one corect me lol but i think he cant produce male cremenos unless they are both split ino

A Few Key Player To My End Rezult
yes he does have spangle markings he is defenently opaline reason i pared them he also holds violet heratage and no green history i know nothing about hen but she comes from a breeder that has mostly violet opaline spangles and her age im only hopeing to achive more opaline spangle pieds at moment i will add more colour genetics as the generations get on but i am just finding out hens background at moment in referance to weather she holds green genetics or only blue if she throughs any green chicks i will use her for a difrent line of coulour probbly my mauve greys other wize theiy the begining of my rainbows its going to be a long time in the makeing as i want to make sure all genetics go back to just blue grey mauve violet with the odd olive i dont want greens poping up anywhere ... i know what i mean lol i know that didnt make much sence lol its all good i have a long turm plain and a picture in mind

Clearflight And Dominant Pieds
- thank you rip for that its about time some one stated the truth about the pieds they are the same ...im glad some one finally pointed that out the thing is so many dom pies were breed to rec pies forming this kind of split linkage and now we have dom pies who dont comply to show standeds but their still doms and they can through a percentage of both dom or rec depending on their family linkage :anim_19: for you rip  oh and the black eye selfs they are one of the pie catorgories all though they are either yellow or white

A Few Key Player To My End Rezult
you are corect darl on your obsovations first pair do need to prim up lol and i dont show breed ...but i do with some birds follow strickt choises after all i want to produce nice birds for all diffrent perperses pets colour and yes some show paired stock but no i will never show my birds as been their and when i started breeding when i was very young i had alot of anel people back in the show rooms then just put me off i have a few good birds with show potential in their off spring that pair you mentioned fall just short of producing a good show type winner she is not up to par however grand dad is on cocks side and they just had a clutch four eggs four chicks all beautiful all healthy and i plan to back breed my best hen one most like dad but clearflighted to grandad who is skyblue/opaline pied this is pairs second clutch first clutch five chicks five eggs and four hens one cock all beautiful and becoming more stunning every month breeding second generation does not start till end this year october with first clutches hen i sold all others exept one cock and this time wont be selling any off them as i kick myself everytime i see the chicks i sold in verious avirys keeping all for eight months this time round grandad produced for me some lovley cocks to hen two last year same time as sons clutch was born and one has turned out to be very potentually worth while and /cinnimon pied so i am just dabbling with most my birds but my mauve line is well on its way and looking good from where i sit i brought a splat bird for this line and plan to keep in touch with splat to mabe talk about getting more with same bloodlines at latter date will post pics of clutch when poss as fires kind of changed my living arangments for while and clutch grew as we were away i go home tomorrow load birds in mornning i did keep pics comming so will do a journal best i can with dates of hatching and growing as promised although chicks got two weeks left in box

ivermectin in Canada
i use the drop type but i thought she didnt know how to mix it or something and was afraid to do wrong thing why i sugested parrofin till vet got back but if i read it wrong and you have the drops kaz is right one drop back of neak bobs your unkle i only aply once also not five times
-
My "flock" - Maurie
true kaz but i do find sometimes i fall back on my books written bc (lol) because with colour and genetics i find they place it in a more simplistic form and it would be imposable to fail using these colour breeding giudes i do plan to post some for all to view when i get a chance as for whats being descussed clipping one wing is ment to off balance the bird it is old hat two wings is safer and more kind however you cut the wing diffrently to the one wing clip method i can not post picture of this two diffrent styles nor can i explain it with out confussing you so if anyone knows what i am meaning please explain for me other wize i will do my best to explain myself well that was easy looking back at your picture you didnt use the other style so just clip other side and hay presto a morally corect wing clipped bird
