A few questions: Should I re-check when it IS dark? or before? I have paswells handrearing mix on standby. How should I mix it? As the box says? Or do you guys have better ideas? I can touch them cant I? Cause I already did to see if its crop was full. Should I take bub out to feed it, or leave it in the box? Im worried if i leave it in the box mum will fly out unless I block her off from it. I really really dont wanna loose these bubs so I am more than willing to hand rear if need be. OMG OMG OMG! I have a hatchling. MY VERY FIRST BABY. I just got home so it happened sometime today. But his crop isnt full?! What do I do? How long do I wait to interviene? ... good timeing guys! Its all just happened.

None of the shops I have worked at (nore have I seen or heard of any), have a vet come in just to cheak up on the animals in store. The only time we have had vets in store is to vaccinate many puppys and kittens at the same time. Other times the pups or kittens are taken to the vets to get vaccinated/cheaked. And any sick puppys or kittens get vet care. Most - if not all- other animals are treated in store. In defence, after working in the animal industry for so long - you tend to know as much as the vets on the basic stuff and how to treat it. (for example - How KAZ can treat many an ill bird as well as any vet- but also knows when she needs help ) The problem arises when you dont have those well experience staff (or the ones that think they know everything)

Look, some back rooms are okay, some arent. In the case of the birds you saw I recon they would have been put to sleep. Many owners (store owners) don't care enough to spend the time on treating them. I'm just thankful that I can!

OMG I just had the most amazing experience. I just candled my 3 eggs for the first time and 2 are clearly fertile, one.. im not to sure. BUT!.... I saw the little embryo and heartbeat of the first egg. A HEARTBEAT! How exciting and amazing. PS. Egg number 4 didnt come today. Do you think she might be having just 3 eggs?

I wouldnt! Lorries can be quite agessive to budgies. One quick nip can do some damage to them
