I was going to remove her when they left the nest but she was already sitting on an egg from her son. He is always going in their to feed her and sits in there while mum goes and eats. The son is only young but is looking after them properly.

  12. Hi there, Well i have one of my pairs in a breeding cage my dad made and the 9 others are just in my aviary all together. They have enough nesting boxes and they are all around the right breeding age and they all get on fine.
  13. This is limey and 3 baby lovebirds
  14. Oh okay, My dad is making an extension to my aviry so there will be more room for breeding cages, i will be putting the older ones in there. Also My budgie aprille, when i got her she had just come out of the nest herself, from a different breeder. About a month later she had babies, then 2 months later again she had babies, The first time she would,ve only been about 5 months old, she had two georgeous budgies, next time she had 4 geoorgeous budgies, all the eggs hatches. Thanks alot anyways, ill try to do something, Thanks again
  15. Sorry but i can only help you on finches in an aviry with budgies. No, you shouldnt, I had 4 finches in my aviary and the budgies would grab them by their wings and ruin their nests. I removed mine straight away and put them in a seperate aviary and swaped them with 2 lovebirds. Quails: I have 2 quails in my aviary, my aviary is covered with bark and long grasses, they love rolling in the bark and hiding in the grass. I give them fresh water, fresh food and even veges, They are definetley male and female and i have had them just under a year. They are always calling each other and sleeping togeyher, but theyve never had eggs, so sorry but i have no idea. Its a mystery
  16. Hi there, just as i was about to cover my aviary, i thought i might go and check that there was food and water in there. I noticed that one of my 11 budgies aprille was in a nesting box, sitting on an egg!!!!yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She has had two other clutches with her boyfriend Halo. After there second clutch, end of feb o8, this might sound weird but halo and aprille broke up. Halo went to his older daughter from , first clutch, and they have fallen in love. Just recently i had noticed aprille had a big bottom like she was pregnant, and kept on going in nesting box, she has an egg. I am thinking that either Oliver or Aprilles son Teala is the mate. Teala is the one you see in my signature, he was born in Late feb 08 so that makes him only about 4-5 months old. I thought how xan this be, hes only a baby himself. So here i am trying to think who, Oliver gets along with aprille, so does Teala. Teala stands on the perch outside the nesting box and sometimes feeds her. Oliver trys to follow aprille but tEALA just chases him away. Could aprille have just layed an egg coz she wanted to or would it be one of the marvelous, cheeky boys? Thanks
  17. thankyou for your replies, we have now seperated them and tomorrow my dad will partition part of our aviary so theyll have a place of their own :bluebudgie:
  18. Love the photos, If they were real that would be amazing but obviously thayre not lol, I like the first one, and the last one. I didnt like the one with the killer whale though  Anyways great pics. :bluebudgie:
  19. Hi there, Today i have put my 4 lovebirds in an aviary with my 11 budgies and 2 quail. The lovebirds seem to get on okay with the budgies, I saw a budgie even grooming one and following them. There is only one budgie that if it gets near her she doesn't like them. I have read on heaps of sites that lovebirds shouldn't go with budgies, but mine get on fine. I don't have anywhere else to put them anyway until my dad builds an extension. It is night time here and i am just hoping that they will survive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They seem to stick together alot. I also have 6 nesting boxes. Thanks
  20. Wow what beautiful budgies. I love the ones with spots on their heads they are just so adorable and beautiful. Wow I also loveeeeeeeeeee the greys and greens and blues, i love them all. I want them. Wowwwwwwwwwwwww good job :hap:

  22. That sounds like a good idea, I have put in some bottlebrush branches and as soon as i put them in all 11 of them hopped on it and started eating the bark, the leaves, it was like they were throwing a party or something lol Thanks alot to all the people that have replyed
  23. okay thanks alot. We use to have a gum tree and they loved it but just the other month we chopped it down. we shouldve kept some of the branches.
  24. wow. I put in a plant dnt know what called and they all scavenged to it. I quickly took it out because it couldve been poisonous. Do you know any plants to put in? thanks
  25. Can someone please tell me what plants/trees/shrubs i can put in my budgie aviary. I have put bark and grasses at the bottom of the aviary and the quail just love it. Can you please tell me what plants are toxic and which plants are non-toxic. Thanks
