HI, My lutino 6 week old baby got attacked when it was just a couple of days old and now can only see through one eye. Now that it is six weeks old it still isnt eating on its own (its brother and sister are five weeks old and are eating all by themselves) Also the baby is reall light and onl gets fed by its parents small quantities, i have also been trying to feed it but it doesnt seem to be putting on weight. When it comes out of the nesting box it flies to the netting and then struggles to get to a perch. At night it also keeps coming out and sleeping with the quail all huddled up. Just recently it has got a pooey bum. Is there anything i can do for it? Ive tried bringing it inside in the warmth but doesnt eat on it own. Help?

At the moment all of my birds are aged from 10 months and up except for misha, when the budgies have babies i usually just sell the babies and they go pretty quick. I was thinking of making the smaller part of the aviary for a breeding room but i cant find any breeding cages anywhere. I was thinking of enclosing that area with wood but dont have the money at the moment. I also cant find any show quality birds anywhere (I would really love a yf grey cock or a clearbody). Thanks

Do you think Halo, Zuri or Big Blue are okay to show? I have been colony breeding for 2-3 years now and have never had a problem. Thanks

I have finally gotten pics of my dogs, First photo is Finn: Sheltie although he dont really look like one lol. Nine years old. Second photo is Odie: HIs dad was Chihuahua x papillion x pekingnese but mostly chihuahua and his mum was a cairn terrier x foxy but mostly cairn terrier. Odie has the colouring of a cairn terrier and the looks of a chihuahua. He is one in feb Odie is a naughty boy because he runs over the road to the neighbours to play with his shitzu x poodle friend, luckily we live in a coldesack. He also chewed two of my mums shoes, but other than that he is very obedient... his tricks are sit, lie down, crawl, beg, stay, shake and spin. He also is good at agility he can weave and jump really high. Finn although he is old can do agility too.

HI there, Im not sure if this in in the right topic place. My 2 year old male budgies cere has recently turned a dark brown reddish sort of a colour, he is in an aviary with 15 other budgies, cockatiels and quail. At the moment he and his 'partner' have 3 babies, Is his cere changing colour a normal thing, does he have some sort of disease that the other birds could catch? He is fine and dosent have a pooy bum or anything so im wondering why it changed all of a sudden. Any help would be appreciated Thanks

wow everyone has georgeous dogs, I dont have any photos at the mo but will upload them soon, Our first dog we got back in 2000 when i was just five, his name is finn and he is a tri sheltie like birdie EXCEPT he was the runt of his family and he kept his puppy fur, his fur stuck out and he looked like a lion lol, so we decided to get him groomed as hes more comfortable with it off, he now looks like a foxy x but he has a great personality. He is now 9 years old. The newcomer is my dog, He is 10 months old and is........... his mum was 3/4 cairn terrier 1/4 foxy and his dad was..... chihuahua, papillion and pekignese but mostly chihuahua. His name is odie and he is mostly chihuahua looking and personality wise but has a light brindle colouring like a cairn terrier. pics are to come.

Your aviry is very nice and spacious, I agree with the safety door though but if you cant make one even though they are quite simple to make you could always put fly stoppers and hang them from the door. okay Fly stoppers are those things lol that hang at your door so no flys can get in, you could cut it to size and just hang it inside the door.

hi, do You know how old they are? Cutie might still be very young and might still want to go to a dark warm place to sleep. Are they eating on there own?

hi there, Well today when i was in my aviary iving it a bit off a scrub one of my budgies that has 2 2 day old babies was getting a bit scared of me being in there so she flew out of her nest, since it was quite a warm day i thought that her babies wouldnt get too cold with her being off of them for about half an hour....... Any way about 20 mins later i looked in her box and the oldest baby was really white and i thoght it was dead.... then when i was picking up the poor wee thing it made a noise but its chest was only moving every now and then so i cupped it in my hands, wrapped it in a fleece blanket and breathed on it and it slowly began making noises again.. i put it back in the nest and mum flew back in. few hours later i went in to check o it and it was back to its pick self with a full crop I think i might have to keep that one now Oh by the way sunny the mum is a lutino and dad is a yellow face 2 green spangle...... Both of the babies hae plum eyes does that make them lutinos? Thanks

HI, I was just wondering if anyone knew how to get baby budgies with the spots on their heads. What sort of mutatins do you have to put together when breeding? Also does anyone think these birds could be show quality? thanks

okay thanks, I dont know where i could find the real stuff, i know what its called but ive looked everywhere, its not to actually handrear budgies just for the sake of it but if the budgies abandon or hurt the babies, i dont suppose you know where i could get it from since i live in nz

hi there, today i bought some handrearing formula only that when i got it home it doesnt really look like handrearing formula........ its called dutch egg and biscuit mix..... conditioning and handrearing food for budgies and other smaller parrots. It is powdery white with little black bits in it maybe some sort of seed it also has minerals and vitamins in it. it says that you have to put luke warm water in it and then either give it to the mothers to feed the babies or make it a bit hotter and feed the babies with either a bent spoon or a syringe. So... could someone please tell me if this is the right stuff please. Ive also searched all the petshops and vets and cant find any kaytee handrearing formula so maybe this stuff might work? thanks

:thumbs_up: Hi there, I havent been on for a while because ive been in england, my mum, my brother, my sister and me flew over to england from new zealand on 12-14 august, we have been here for almost 3 weeks so still 7 weeks to go!!!!!!!! We had to drive from waipukurau to auckland (6 hour drive) then flew from Auckland to Brisbane (3 and a half hour flight), then from brisbane to Brunei (7 and a half hour flight) bruneis temp was 36 degrees!!!!!! then from brunei to dubai (8 and a half hour flight) by the time we arrived in dubai it was midnight and reaching up to 40 degrees phewwwwww!!!! dubai is surrounded by desert with camels, one of the richest cities in the world. Then from dubai to heathrow airport in england (8 hours). By he time we got there it was 6 in the morningand we were all stuffed, I ended up getting jetlag and vertigo, So far weve visited the family....... aunties, grandad and cousins in tottenham and nan and uncles in canvey island. they have humongous spiders here lol, my mum is planning to take us to the london eye, bukingham palace, and we will be going to a haunted house thing where we go at night and get show round a haunted building like on some programs. Since im only 14 and still go to school i get to miss 10 weeks of it yay!!!!!!!!!!! We had to leave my dad at home to look after all of our animals........this includes............. 1 dog 1 puppy 3 cats 1 rainbow lorikeet 1 talking budgie 2 rabbits 6 fish 1 snail 1 rat 5 quail 2 cockatiels 16 or so budgies and i think thats it well gotta go now and watch a horror movie its 10 at night right now probably early morning for most of you catcha soon
