  1. hi there..easy solution...dont put them in with budgies....budgies are very aggressive..we learnt the hard way,not by putting them in with budgies but by having them 2 close to the back door..they never saw us coming round the corner and would just drop dead Leason we learnt after 8 birds died...since we moved them into another aviary where they see us coming...NOT 1 has died in 2 yrs

Congrats Snowflakes good job buddie...all our aviaries have never gone to paper (secrets locked inside my head) Word of caution tho....Cockatoo next to anyother keet can end in disaster...! some hints for you 1. make sure the mesh dividing the cages is strong enough so the TOO cant bite through the mesh ( had Galah's that could rip mesh apart) 2. mesh the Too's side so its a double meshed divider-this was the toes of the budgies will not be bitten off 3.keep us updated lol cheers Adam
  4. Think i'll will try the baby corn on the Sun Conures as they love corn.I reakon the native parrots would love the corn

  6. Thanks Jimmy, it hasnt just been sprung on me as Tracy will say-all the work is mapped in my head,so i knew the bird room was coming already have power suppy worked out etc...now to rob a bank to build it lol
  7. i agree...need to see photos to help you
  8. thanks guys for the wonderful comments. If anyone is interested in custom avairies they are made by a man who lives in Balaklava (Sth Aust.) he builds the cages that you see in zoo's right across Australia so transport is not the issue it's the "COST" as this projest did not come cheap lol. If anyone is interested PM myself or Tracy and i will find this mans details and forward them on to you. Custom built avairies are the best as you give your own specs to them and they build for you,so you get what you want to fit where you want it. Tracy forgot to mention that the dividing walls in the avairy are doubled mesh so not biting toes off We still have about 16tonne of rubble to move then erect another retaining wall-move good soil in,plant vegies, fruit trees (for the birds) then move more dirt build another retaining wall, pour yet more concrete then build the bird room ( insulated with power and themostat controlled) ....YIKES...! Im a busy boy lol
  9. im amazed (dont take this the wrong way)..do you realize that the "cage is on the lawn-no bottom to it...! plastic all around...! unstable box...! you really dont have any idea what you are doing-do you? someone in your situation,my sugestion ...wiat for a year till you know what you are doing..heres some ideas 1. get a better cage 2.secure boxes 3.know the ages of the birds 4.realize there is no money in it..just love 5.be responsible 6.be prepared for sick birds look at the posts all over the forum...dont jump in thinking you know what to do-always ask someone here what to do-looking at the photo ..well i shall say,way stunned that you are even considering to breed birds best of luck-keep us posted.. Adam
  10. hi guys, these boxes have 5 ventalation slots on the far end for cooling, aslo they can be altered to use either left or right-hand sides as they have simple pop outs in them- they are made by a company called "HAGEN" and made in Malaysia. 16. guys the easiest way to stop mice/rats is a TPM...Temp Promentive Matience.. st1.. make sure no weeds plants are close by 2 cleen cages wekly 3 if soil floor...well need i say MORE 4 if you have kick panels on your flights-try using some cheap olive olive on them brush them over..mice cant grip 5 will show you or better still get sunnie my fiancee to take some picks -mice get in (quails dont) and go away to die easier option is to get a soft drink bottle, place rat sack in it, shake to the bottom and there is your mouse trap if you have RATS,you have a mouse problem..if you dont have a dog or cat-gingerly spread ratsack around all im going to say as sunnie talks for both of us lool
