Tree Branch Bark ?
Hi My bird just loves ripping the bark off the perches , so Ive been replacing them very often just so she can do this as my vet said she will love it . My question is how much is good and is there too much as my bird will stripp a new branch every day ? Before I even get the new one in there she will jump on it and start stripping it . Cheers

Going Away ?
That's the one that was recomended to me , the owner used to work at the avian vet I go to and sounds okay , I phoned but they told me my bird will go in with other's . No good for my bird as she has special needs as she has a bad foot and would probally struggle in a strange cage , would have prefered if I could leave her there in her cage as it's all set up for her needs . Cheers . My birds getting cheekier by the day !

Going Away ?
Hi , I'm thinking about going away for a day or two next weekend just wondering what's the best option for my budgie & what do other owners do as I live on my own ? Ive taken her to her previous owners in the past but they live on the other side of town from me and the enviroment is not perfect . There's a bird boarding house my vet recomended but they put the birds together and my bird is so adjusted to her own cage I couldn't do it to her plus couldn't they get infected ?? The other option is I get someone to call inn and feed & check up on her . She normally feeds from a dish and thought I'd install the tube type feeder so she wouldn't run out of feed plus would be cleaner . I thought a overnight she would be fine but two day's ??? Any suggestions ?

Heating ?
Thanks for your reply's , good info . I have my bird ( fluff ) in the computer room too but she's close to a central heating duct and that concerns me , am I right this wouldn't be good ? I detected a slight draft coming in the window and have plugged it for now but also the central heathing unit outside is not far away from this window and Ive read this could be a problem too with the fumes but cannot detect any ( but that's me ) . Sounds like I could have made some mistakes recently as she's been going from outside on a hot day to inside around air cond . Fluff's been real ill in the recent past and had to be hospitalized at the vet's for some time , the only thing they found was a strange bacterier in her system not normally found in Budgies . We managed to get back with a coarse of Anti biotics . Now she appears ill again basicly fluffing up a lot and sleeping with the head under the wing as well as her temprement has changed ( not very friendly was in the past ) and her feathers looked ruffled . She's eating okay and her poop looks okay today but was nearly all black several day's ago ( Ive read this is not good ) . I'll continue to moniter her but will probally have to take her to the vet again . Cheers .

Heating ?
Hi , I'm new to this Forum and after some advice , I'm trying to keep my Bird warm of a night inside as she's been unwell , I have a proper heated lamp I bought from the avian vet and her cage covered at night , Is one lamp enough as my house get's quite cool in winter ( lot's of glass window's ) and I'm trying to cut back on having my central heating on as I don't like it for myself ? Thanks .
