  1. It is not the same as any regular willow, but the other name of Peppermint tree is Willow Myrtle, so this is where confusion could come from

Hello, We are Betty the budgie and Sophia the cockatiel, we live together and very much love each other and get on very well. Sometimes Betty refuses to scratch my head though because I always ask her: We love peas! Just chilling..

That is alright, Elly , I understand (just got a bit nervous at first because I really really care about those two feathered creatures)

Thank you, I have a few willow branches, eucalyptus ones and birch ones (they are waiting to be made into proper perches, they used to fit in a previous cage but not in this one), and their swings in the cage are made of natural wood too:) (I read the forum alot and have learnt tons about bird care from it

Thank you very much:), and thank you for the suggestion about the perches I will see what i can do (the one which runs from side to side came with the cage and way to long to put from front to back, but I think I will just lower it just to make it a step to the bottom of the cage:) I do have a few more photos of them and will post them in the picture section, thank you Maesie

Well I just watch them everyday, been watching for quite a while, i have never seen anything what would cause my concern. I am a responsible pet owner and really love them and would never put any of them at risk. My husband actually just checked it and said it was 12mm, which is 0.47 inch (he is an architect so hopefully he can measure correctly!).

Oh well I didn't succeed in sharing my joy..

They are housed together and they get along very well, the budgie is a quiet girl but she can definitely defend herself and pushes Sophia off the treats and food bowls when she wants, and the cockatiel seems to listen to the older lady:) (the budgie is older). The spacing is around 1.4 cm, I can't really see how Betty can put her head through them:) and again she is a very quiet budgie so i don't even see her trying!:hi: They were introduced gradually and because I am at home all day I have been able to observe their behavior and I dont see any reasons for concern But thanks for asking

I love looking at the photos of budgies in their cages just to see how they are "furnished". I've been looking for inspiration on what cage to get for my birds, and finally i have got it! I love it! I just wanted to say if anyone doubts what cage to buy this one is called Montana San Remo and it is so great! It is a bit pricey but it is really spacious. It has three doors, one at the top, one proper big door and one opens to form a platform. My birds are quite untamed so it used to be really hard to get them in a regular cage with two small doors, whereas with this one it is no problem at all! they love sitting on it, climbing and the platform thing is perfect for putting fresh veg and soft foods for them to eat. I was doubting whether to buy it or not as their older cage was reasonably big too but now I am so happy I have got it and I just wanted to share my joy as I know people on this forum will understand (unlike my husband ) So here goes the pictures! :hi: The cage is modeled by Betty the budgie and Sophia the cockatiel  Hope you will enjoy it:)

Thank you for the replies. I suppose the saying "everything good in moderation" applies to wheatgrass too

I have recently got Wheatgrass in a pot (from Beak Appetite people) and my birds seem to like it. I especially happy because on their website they say how great wheatgrass is for budgies. But just not I have read in the FAQ section that wheatgrass can be fed only once a week! WHY?

My budgie is usually a very quiet boy, just follows the same route when he is outside of the cage, like from the cage to the top of the cupboard and back and never anywhere else. The other day i bought a bouquet of tulips and noticed that he has been trying to land on them for the second day. he never succeeds. i replaced them from one table to my coffee table and put it next to my laptop and my budgie landed on my laptop instead (i was so excited as he usually tries to sit high up and never lands anywhere near us). however i know that tulips are poisonous so i moved them away from him. I was wondering if anyone knows if you can get any shop bought bouquets suitable and not poisonous for budgies? i know sunflowers are not poisonous but are there any other ones? and are shop bought flowers safe to nibble on or are they all covered in pesticides?

He does eat fruit and veg, he quite likes them. I will do the oil thing, thank you. His feet look dry too usually and i put some oil on them and they look better, so it maybe it will help his beak too.

I love stories of friendship between different animals. i wish my bunny and budgies were friends. but they don't seem to notice each other's existence :budgiedance:(

Speaking of amorous, do your bunnies run around your legs when you get up? It is so funny to see him running from the opposite corner of the room as soon as he sees i am standing. Our floors are laminated so quite slippery, it is quite funny to hear his feet shuffling like in a cartoon on one spot before he can take off in a hurry :budgiedance:

Hello Birdluv! Thank you:) Your bunny is so lovely! Love her little black nose and ears! What a pretty girl!

Mine is tiny, i think he is probably about 2 kilos :budgiedance:. I have heard that male bunnies are best kept on their own, so probably their duet with the doggy is the best one:), however i am sure you can keep loads and they all will be happy together, especially if they have enough space to run about

Oh poor bunny! He is lucky though you found him! How much does he weigh (if he doesn't mind me asking)?:budgiedance: Just wonder how "giant" he is:)
