We were not 100% sure actually, as most of the time "her" cere is a very light shade blue. But thats okay, as Benny can be nickname for Benita..hahaha Love her just the same. Did the same with Lucy - her real name was Luke, but when she was egg bound, we found out pretty quick Luke was a Lucy hahahaha......lol Doesnt really matter to us, we just love having the atmosphere of a new family member at our place!!!Thanks for letting us know, I thought that was why you may have wanted a bigger picture.!!!

Hi We have only had Benny for three weeks today I have looked at the FAQ.s and that has helped alot Each day we slowly put our hand in his cage to get used to us We were thinking of only clipping his wings as a one off, so that he will learn to trust us Still in some double edge sword about that.......as we dont want to stress him out too much either But we love him just the same and in time it will tell..... we really want a lovely dovey budgie that loves just hanging out with us, like our Lucy used too.......maybe not a good idea to compare, but we had such a wonderful experience with Lucy, that we want it all over again (taking into consideration, Benny is completely a different personality already ) Same picture below, but a bit bigger

  5. Hi All I havent written as its taken a bit to digest our Lucy is not going to be with us for much longer She has not lost some of her mobility flying, but happy to woddle around on the ground - funny it takes us back to the time when she couldnt fly at all..haha happy memories She still has the most awesome appetite, but is drinking more and more - something we are not used to Her spirit and manner are just the same, always happy to see us, when we get up in the morn or get home from work She had a bleed on Wed night and that was just heartbreaking to watch, but it stopped in a matter of minutes. Not sure what this could have been (ie tumour or bottom pressure) We are taking each day as the most wonderful blessing for her to still be with us........ Just thought I would let you know You guys are great, the words and compassion you show others is to be recommended to anyone - I m glad I stumbled upon this webpage
  6. Hi Maesie and Crackles. Just wanted to wish the best positive result that comes both your ways at the Vets tonight My thoughts are with you both and everything that I can cross, is crossed Happy thoughts... Kim
  7. Visit My Website Hopefully this one will be okay....Im not used to this photo link program So it takes me a few goes to get going
  8. Hiya Thought I would just post a nicer picture of our little girl, as the last one didnt really do any justice for her. This was taken just the other day after we brought her home from the Vets. Still she is doing well. She is sleeping a little more during the day, but not where it seems like major lethary She even had a bath today, we we just loved seeing her do, as she just loves her bathtime http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg241/kpullen_2008/002.jpg[/img]"]lucy
  9. Thanks Glynnis - it was so hard being there on Thursday night, with the news and all. But just so you know Lucy has been chattering away and wolf whistling at us since she has been home. She is eating like a stuffed turkey, Im taking that as a good sign and shes drinking still too. We were just so happy we were able to bring her home and still have a little more time with her, until!!!! But at the moment she is happy eating her millet head ( I know its meant to be a treat, but yeah were spoiling her even more now) sitting on her out of cage pozzi. Sorry, I was constantly getting chocked up on Thursday too - I just wanted to take her home. Hope you understand...my heart was with Lucy at the time. But I will keep you posted on her, so far, so good ! Thanks again for being with her during her stay, Lucy and I are 110% ever so grateful for that and its great knowing she was being talked too. She loves her chats........Im sure you will be exceptional in your career too
  10. We have just bought her home from the Avian Vet - she stayed in overnight and had some xray's today. It has been confirmed that she has a kidney tumour and there is nothing that we can do.We bought her home because as discussed with the Vet, while she is still in good spirits, eating and flying around okay, we should take advantage of the time. There is obviously no time scale that can be put on it, as it depends on the aggressiveness and growth rate. But when the time comes, we will not make her suffer. They did offer to give her some Cortosteriods but not while she is still okay as it has bad side effects, plus it will not prolong life, but only make it easier for her to deal with..... To tell the truth, I feel like complete ****, but she is with us again tonight ( it was so quiet here last night) and there is some peace of mind now that we know what is really going on. Once again, I would really like to reiterate my thanks to you all for your suggestions and insights, to what this could have been. We really do appreciate you taking the time to feed back. Thanks again Kim and Lucy beep beep (thats lucy talk)
  11. We have the bottle here to worm her. But I have been too scared incase of an impact on whats going on??? Does that make sense. Should I do it straight away, irrespective of her bottom at present Her poop is normal, solid, white and green. Sometimes runny but only every three to four days.... I dont want to alarm you but green is not good , her poop should be black with a white urate spot . I would not give her any greens or soft food and best to give your local vet a call and explain what is happening in the morning . But dont be to alarmed , is she okay or fluffed up and looking tired and lifeless. Oh God - I was hoping no-one was ever going to say that. But I do understand. Its just hard to not think the worst When I say green, its not bright green, its a dark olive green. She is not fluffed up and definitely not tired. Everyday she is as if nothing is going on....! Its me thats doing all the worrying !!!! But as suggested, I will call our vet tomorrow and discuss what could be going on. Thanks so much to all of you, for your replies I have been overwhelmed (considering Im just a budgie pet owner) and out of my league when it comes to the things you guys do with them..ie: shows/breeding I really do appreciate your assistance. Will keep you posted on outcomes to date, where I can

  13. Kim again here. She doesn't seem to have gained any weight. And her spirit is as always, full of life and flying around freely around our home (carefully though) The only thing is her little vent not looking quite right. Although the attached picture does not justice for her, please rest assured that we do try and keep her clean most days, when she lets us :yellowhead: , gently wipe it down ( cotton ball, water - not even lukewarm) Visit My Website
  14. Hi Im very new and dont really know if Im writing this in the correct spot. My name is Kim and of course we have registered because of our budgie. She is 5.3 yrs old Our question is: she is bald around her bottom, about the size of a 5 cent piece. I have photos but dont know how to attach???? We dont know what this could be caused by, as she is let out of her cage :glare: everyday and all weekend until we all go to bed. So I dont think its from boredom or lack of companionship Mind you she is in the moulting period at present, but we have never seen this with her before Any suggestions....... Luke says: please excuse my bottom being dirty when Kim took the photo.....
