Roxy And Tiny
Roxy had a busy morning this morning meeting Tweety and Runt for the first time. Tweety stayed on my shoulder but Runt was very curious about the new housemate. Runt had to check out feed time. After food it was time for introductions. Then sleep time.

Baby Budgie Pics
Is the shape what you look at, the female's ceres look flat where as the male's ceres are raised, is that correct?

Baby Budgie Pics

Baby Budgie Pics
It is very interesting that i got a opaline spangle because the father has alot of blue marks in his wings and i posted pics of him when i got him asking about the markings and got different opinions about whether he was carrying opaline and some people said that the markings did not show that he was carrying opaline but it looks like he was. This is a photo of the father's markings again.

Baby Budgie Pics
Thanks for explaining Roxy, i thought she was a badly marked spangle. i do not know the parents background so i was not expecting opaline. Yeah, i just breed my first opaline. The white one has no clour on its rump just a blue tinge to its chest and check patches. Deos anyone know if they are male or female , are they too young to tell?

Baby Budgie Pics
These are photos of the 3 babies i have left from my first cabinet breeding. I have been told Roxy is a female but can anyone tell me what the other 2 are. Baby number 1 is a blue spangle but is it cobalt or skyblue. Baby number 2 is Roxy and i have no idea of her type she has too much blue in the top of her wings to be a spangle. Baby number 3 has white wings but blue on her chest so i did not get a df spangle.

Roxy And Tiny
i just had to post another picture of Roxy today. i was giving them their afternoon feed and Roxy did not like the idea that Tiny was getting feed first so attempted to climb out of her container which is so amazing when 4 days ago she could not even hold her head up by herself. I am so proud of how far my little girl has come.

Roxy And Tiny
I decided to start a new topic for Roxy and Tiny, the 2 babies i am handraising where i will put regular updates and photos of their progress for people who are interested in how they are going.Roxy is improving a little bit every day, this morning she started walking, her balance is not 100% but keeps getting better every day. She loves food time and is a little piggy. Tiny on the other hand is going to have a long road to get back to good health, as well as having splayed legs it looks like one of his legs got injured when he was squashed in the nestbox, his foot is swollen as well as no movement in that leg.He also has red marks on his back and no down feathers so i say he has been peek at as well.He is 2 weeks old today but still very little. Here is a photo of my 2 little fighters.

My Little Survivors
I have good news and sad news, I have been away this weekend so my hubby has been looking after my birds.Roxanne is getting better and her balance is slowly improving. I do not think she has anything stuck in her neck because she has no problems with feeding and the hen has only been feeding them the egg and biscuit mix and millet seeds. The sad news is my hubby has been feeding the hen in the breeding cabinet but did not check the babies while i was away so i found the youngest baby squash under the older 2 who are twice the size of the younger one and they were peeking him.He was very week but still alive and has splayed legs so i have brought him inside and feed him and put a makeup sponge on his legs. Hopefully this one will pull through just like Roxanne has. This is a picture of Roxanne holding herself up now,Yeah.

My Little Survivors
Roxanne not Rocky as i have been informed has won my heart and as long as she fights to survive i will help her as much as i can, it sounds like Roxanne has a similar problem to Kaz's chick, she cannot balance well but if she survives she will spend her life living in the house with me getting lots of love and special attention.

My Little Survivors
i took some more pics of rocky but the problem is he cannot hold his own head up and has very limit movement. When i looked at his crop pipe compared to the other babies his protrudes more and is crooked.what could cause that? he has no problems with feeding but cannot walk at all.

My Little Survivors
After all the hassles i have had with my breeding pair, the 4 little ones are still alive.Just had to show some pics of my little survivors. The 3 in the nestbox are finally getting some feathers and i think i have one blue spangle and 2 white df spangles.Rocky my little sick one is improving but still has a long battle ahead of him but i am hoping with lots of love and care he will make it.I think he was injured when the pair where fighting in the nestbox. Rocky, my little fighter.

Help Please
Well, the hen has been looking after her babies all day, without the male around annoying her she has been able to take care of them properly.
-
Help Please
Yes, it's crop is emptying but it is having problems breathing and is very lethargic so i giving it small frequent feeds, its poos are mainly water.
-
Help Please
The hen is doing well without the male with the 3 babies in the nestbox, she eating the seed and egg/biscuit mix and then going and feeding the babies. They all have food in their crops. The sick one is still no better.
