  4. I have candled the eggs and I know which ones are fertile i have not tossed the eggs... i have decided to give them a go under Lady as she is a very clucky girl and i have nothing to loose by trying then under her once she has settled into her box
  5. Yeah i know :laughter: but she cant raise them all so best to toss them before they develop They will only get all poopy and become DIS otherwise
  6. :laughter: I have mum coming over soon and she will be getting some intense lessons on bird breeding There are 3 clear/undeveloped eggs so am about to toss them
  7. I was in the process of shutting down cabinets as last round was a disaster and it will be getting too hot soon. I only have 3 cabinets running and 1 is a lousy mum and another has enough chicks of her own. I will have to work something out though... i might start up another hen and see if i can put an egg or two under her as she starts to lay
  8. is this mornings egg/chick count to this pairs second round

    Hello and welcome
  15. I agree - sounds like air sac mites to me too. They are treatable, but needs to be treated soon as the mites suck blood and birds can go down hill fast
  16. Hello and welcome. Sounds like your budgie has an illness. Budgies will breath with their beak open in hot weather or when under stress, but in your case it sounds like there is an underlying issue. Could be airsac mites, respiratory infection or psittacosis - just to name a few. An Avian vet will be needed to diagnose your budgies symptoms.
  17. They are very cute babies - even if they don't have lots of markings
  18. Mites are nasty buggers that are a real headache to get rid of. Hope the treatment is going well Kaz
  19. Try this one http://forum.seahorse.org/
  20. I haven't met you, but judging by Lauren, you must be
  21. I say hen :hap: Welcome, by the way
  22. There is a note above this forum that says "Topics regarding health and support etc. of other animals besides budgies will be removed. However, feel free to post about your other pets with images etc." Your best bet would be to find a relevant forum like MB mentioned - there would be one out there somewhere
  23. :hap: I didn't even notice Thanks Elly
  24. Hills "no comment" about your mother in-law  That works Elly Up to this point i have always bred for temperament over looks Angelica is gorgeous in her temperament, just like Lady. Lady lets me poke, prod and pull her in all different directions and she is perfectly fine with it - Angelica has also inherited that quiet part of her nature. Its the cage looping that gets me. Even if its just expelling energy, why would it be identical to the way Lady does it I have given her lots of fresh peppermint gum to her her entertained - for now
