  1. I couldn't see the gender on them all... but this is my (poor) guess on their types Some or all the the greens might be Yellow Face type 2's, I will be corrected where i am wrong Oh, and Your other one is a normal grey hen Oh.... AND your albino either had some food stuck to the cere or it could be mild scaly face which will need to be treated.
  2. They are really lovely the yellow one is interesting - i am hopeless with genetics and i look forward to reading what the others say s/he is

  8. It is a very interesting question Lucy - personally I would say it's okay, but only if you follow all quarantine rules when you introduce new birds (from an outside source) before they enter the flock/s I do not quarantine my birds when i swap them between aviary's, and i would say your situation would be similar to just taking a bird from one aviary and putting it in another How long is the travel distance between aviary's??
  9. WWWOOOOO HOOOO Neat!!! 2 out of 2 Well DONE!!! Congrats Bea!!!! They are both very funny captions
  10. I am thinking about building a set of 6 wooden breeding cabinets..... I have seen the wire fronts for sale in my local bird shop for $16, but how do i go about building the rest??? Has any one got any blue prints or plans from when they made theirs???? What would the cost roughly be for all the wood to make the cabinets etc?? Is it easier/cheaper to buy some...?? do you know where from as SA ebay is lousy for bird stuff. My other option would be to buy six breeding wire cages.... but how to i attach the boxes to them?? Thanks in advance **EDIT** I have just found a great topic by Daz on building cabinets -----> HERE How much would it cost???? is it difficult to do??? ****More Edits**** After reading Daz's BRILLIANT topic - I think i will go with the wire cages. cheaper, easier to build and easier to clean Silly me for posting a topic that has already been done so brilliantly - i don't know how i missed it
  11. They are adorable photos Sky wants Bailey to mate with her When he is singing and chatting to her, she will crouch and lift her tail. the male normally gets on her back and they would mate. a hens safe breeding age is between 1-4 years so she is at (or past) the limit for safe breeding - It's not so strict with the boys, but that's because they don't have to produce the eggs.

I am just wondering if slugs pose any issues when slithering around the bottom of the aviary??? The recent rains have bought them out and i can see their trails around the birds seed and water dishes. Are they a health hazard that i need to get rid of??
  18. Fly....hmmmm... but for quality birds from trusted breeders... I'd say its worth the extra $$$
