:D There are so many things to tread in!!! in the middle of the night when i was getting up to my daughter . My dog obviously had a moment of weakness and pooped in the hall...I stepped right in it!! ERRRRR and i was only half awake and it took a moment for me to realise what i had done - Oh the smellll was BAD :X
  4. My hubby collects Cacti and We have agreed that we can have equal space for our collections. well in the last few months he has built himself a MASSIVE greenhouse that is about 7 of my aviaries in size... - I will catch up and he knows it hehehe
  5. Brilliant progress!! you work so fast!! - I love the tiling work!! I look forward to photos too
  6. I take my hat off to you. It takes a strong woman to do what you are doing. i would go stir crazy if i was without my man for that long - i am not one for long distance relationships and I would be worried sick every day until he returned My hubby is in defense too but we stay put
  7. Well now you have won 3 Your on a roll - go buy a lotto ticket and see how far your winning streak will take you
  8. Your hubby is good isn't he Your kids look so cute all rugged up - We have had it really cold and wet here too.... brrrrr, but its much better than the stinking summer heat

Hello and welcome I am from Adelaide too. I look forward to seeing your photos
  10. I think it''s a skill that is learned in the 4th-5th week of chickhood Normally by the time they fledge, they can perch okay
  11. What a great dad!!! I would give him a rest for a month or two after his babies have weaned - don't want him wearing himself out Oh and there is every possibility that the other two "planted their seed" and are happily puting their feet up watching him do ALLLLLLL the work
  12. She could breed at that age and if she is in condition - in that photo Is her cere looks a whitish blue and she looks out of condition to me.
  13. Yeah me too. In summer i had 2 males happily sharing the one hen - they even shared chick raising and feeding
  14. That's a lot of eggs I normally get around 5-7 eggs per clutch, so to have 11 - WOW!! Do you have any other pairs that could foster chicks if there ends up being too many for her to cope with. Also the later eggs she laid will probably get covered in poop and not hatch anyway - you can foster the eggs to another pair (if you have one) to reduce the number of eggs that diefrom being covered in poop.

They are so cute - They look like mini playgrounds I have seen ones similar to those (with the nice colours too) in Big W...
  16. Great info SW!!!!
  17. Are they in cabinets or colony bred????
  18. Any budgie breeding under 12 months of age is like letting a 13 child have kids - they can breed, but are not physically or mentally mature enough to do it properly. They can get egg bound, they can leave the eggs, they can pluck the chicks or not feed the properly - and those are just a few complications when breeding underage budgies.
  19. Looks great!!! It's going to be HUGE!!!!! Plenty of room for lots and lots and LOTS more birds :hap: :hap: :hap: :budgiedance: :budgiedance: :budgiedance: :budgiedance: :budgiedance: :budgiedance: :budgiedance: hehehe

Gotta Love EBAY (i used id's because my ebay links keep coming back with an error ) there is This 380043791455 Or this 120281160287 Also I have seen them in Big W stores. I ended up making my own because mine needed to be big enough for 5 birds to play on with no fighting
  21. Still looks cinnamon to me - but i do see the grey flights .... weird They grey hen needs a picture of her back to see the wing markings and the back of her neck
  22. Relooking at the picture....I agree with SW, the yellow chick looks to have black eyes and dads markins (Opaline spangle) and mums colour as i am also seeing green on the rump.
  23. You must have a BIG monitor - they are under each other on my (laptop) screen hehe
  24. Hello and Welcome There are a few different things to take into consideration when it comes to budgie taming. 1) how old is the budgie 2) Was it handled by the breeder when it was in the nest 3) are its wings clipped A young, wing clipped, baby that was handled by the breeder as a chick, will tame a lot easier than an older, unclipped bird, that was colony bred with no human contact. Do you know any background info, and have you got a photo that we could see to help tell you the age on your budgie???
  25. so did ours - worst summer ever!! lets hope it will be better this year
