I take my hat off to you. It takes a strong woman to do what you are doing. i would go stir crazy if i was without my man for that long - i am not one for long distance relationships and I would be worried sick every day until he returned My hubby is in defense too but we stay put

Age Of Babies Perching.
I think it''s a skill that is learned in the 4th-5th week of chickhood Normally by the time they fledge, they can perch okay
-
Mum Of The Year!
What a great dad!!! I would give him a rest for a month or two after his babies have weaned - don't want him wearing himself out Oh and there is every possibility that the other two "planted their seed" and are happily puting their feet up watching him do ALLLLLLL the work
-
Sky And Bailey
She could breed at that age and if she is in condition - in that photo Is her cere looks a whitish blue and she looks out of condition to me.
-
Mum Of The Year!
Yeah me too. In summer i had 2 males happily sharing the one hen - they even shared chick raising and feeding

1 Baby And 10 Eggs...
That's a lot of eggs I normally get around 5-7 eggs per clutch, so to have 11 - WOW!! Do you have any other pairs that could foster chicks if there ends up being too many for her to cope with. Also the later eggs she laid will probably get covered in poop and not hatch anyway - you can foster the eggs to another pair (if you have one) to reduce the number of eggs that diefrom being covered in poop.

Budgie Play Gyms
They are so cute - They look like mini playgrounds I have seen ones similar to those (with the nice colours too) in Big W...

Mum Of The Year!
Are they in cabinets or colony bred????

New Gal Has More Questions
Any budgie breeding under 12 months of age is like letting a 13 child have kids - they can breed, but are not physically or mentally mature enough to do it properly. They can get egg bound, they can leave the eggs, they can pluck the chicks or not feed the properly - and those are just a few complications when breeding underage budgies.

Budgie Play Gyms
Gotta Love EBAY (i used id's because my ebay links keep coming back with an error ) there is This 380043791455 Or this 120281160287 Also I have seen them in Big W stores. I ended up making my own because mine needed to be big enough for 5 birds to play on with no fighting

New Gal
Still looks cinnamon to me - but i do see the grey flights .... weird They grey hen needs a picture of her back to see the wing markings and the back of her neck
-
Mum Of The Year!
Relooking at the picture....I agree with SW, the yellow chick looks to have black eyes and dads markins (Opaline spangle) and mums colour as i am also seeing green on the rump.

New Gal

Budgie Training
Hello and Welcome There are a few different things to take into consideration when it comes to budgie taming. 1) how old is the budgie 2) Was it handled by the breeder when it was in the nest 3) are its wings clipped A young, wing clipped, baby that was handled by the breeder as a chick, will tame a lot easier than an older, unclipped bird, that was colony bred with no human contact. Do you know any background info, and have you got a photo that we could see to help tell you the age on your budgie???
