  13. I have a YF spangle just like her and she is only about 5 months old. the amount of YF cant be used to tell the age of a bird. To me she looks around the right age, but its really hard to tell as some look older when they are still young. are her iris rings completely white?

Hello and welcome There is sooooooo much to learn about breeding. You are in the right place to get all your answers most important thing at this stage is, how old are your birds?
  15. i think the reality of it is most of those budgies would be parent rared, but hand tamed - just breeders trying to make an extra buck. most people know that there is no bonding benefit in hand rearing a budgie.
  16. I use a large net too and normally catch birds in flight or when hanging on the wire. I just recently caught every single one of my birds (about 40) and moved them into a different aviary as they all got treated for feather mites. It was a tough job, but these things have to be done. I would recommend you catch your birds at least once a month to check them over for weight, mites, poopy vents etc.
  17. I have not experienced it, but in reading i believe it is okay if it only happens once or twice. Keep a close eye on her as she may be struggling with passing the eggs and might be a risk to egg binding in the future.

  19. You Bet first bub due on Thurs - you can watch them grow up and get them already tamed
