  1. They're receiving scaly face ointment for treatment, which is what I do for all cases (not using Ivermectin as of yet) The beaks have all ready been trimmed and extra little bits of scaly face that could be have been picked off. Both are eating and looking okay-ish... Although the cock is still VERY light, but alot more alert.
  2. From a lutino hen to a recessive pied (presuming their genes are pure) you will get all normals split to recessive pied of the green series with all cock being split Lutino also. But any of that could change with hidden genes, e.g. splits and masked ones
  3. If only that were all my birds I have only ever produced 3, by accident! lol which are all split fallow so will be used for that gene instead
  4. Try the macro mode setting, it's the flower on your camera. usually next to the lightning bolt, which is the flash.
  5. The small dot is the recessive gene... Grey and violet are factors... but i'm pretty sure they're dominant... or atleast I know grey is... And greywing is a gene of it's own which is recessive, so No idea what they're on about there...?
  6. The hen has a decent body weight, but the cock nothing what so ever... so we're crop feeding him until he's better... poor lad
  7. Can you get a close up Macro mode photo of her eyes, they definatly look red and her pink feet are also an indicator.
  8. Well a friend of mine works at a local pet shop here in Perth (if you'd like to know the name of it PM me) She informed me they had some birds that really ought not be there, let alone up for sale. So I told her to give them an ultimatum or else i'd make a complaint. They handed the birds over to her willingly, then she in turn handed them over to me for treatment. I expected them to be bad, as she said they had scaley face, but not this bad! There's one hen (sky violet opaline spangle) and one cock (mauve violet opaline spangle). The cock is in very poor condition, he's light as a feather and his beak is soooo bad! The hen has a badly deformed beak, very badly affected feet and nails, but over all seems to be in a much better condition than the cock. Here are some pics of them, as the treatment goes on i'll show you their progress. Presuming they make it that far(fingers crossed) - cock left side - cock right side - cock feet - cock feet again - hen left side - hen right side - hen left foot - hen right foot - both feet - After their first treatment and feed. They got wormed, given sulphadim and a soft food mix. looking a bit better already, but still horribly sick
  9. It's a lutino and a recessive pied In the first picture you can see her red eyes
  10. What a pretty flock and welcome

Hi guys, just had to show you some cute pics I took over the weekend As some of you know I look after my neice and nephew full time as their parents work, this week I got some cute pics of them in the aviary with the birdies And of my ten year old bunny being a cutie, hope you enjoy them!!! - Eoules my bunny (yes, from Hercules and eoules) sneaking the birdies snack of finch seed - and another cute one, look at the white bird to his right... I don't think Zeuss (Kaz's bird) looks too happy with the rabbit stealing his food - My three year old nephew Kain, another one of Kaz's birds with him there also named David (yf violet cock) - My seven year old neice Laurana, she looks pretty happy i think - Soo cute, the birds didn't even mind them being there, they just wanted the seed! - and one last cute shot
  12. Cool mints are a sweet from Allens you can buy. It seems a little odd though as with the birds body heat and perspiration that would make everything all sticky and so on... When adding things to the nest as fakes people tend to lean more towards marbles that're white.
  13. Sorry but why should they have a shorter breeding time frame over the 'pet' type birds? The stress of breeding affects them all and retirement is needed for all birds. Mine are because I buy mine from other breeders to build up my stock of them. The main breeder i buy off (Brett Wood) sells mostly his older birds, between 2-4 years old, so basically when I get them there's not much time left before they aren't good for breeding and will be retired. If I want to eutalise their genes I have to do it quickly. My show birds I've bred myself though will have the same breeding life span as all my pet types obviously though.
  14. I'm sorry you lost it, you did well to keep it alive that long, at that age any one stuggles to keep them alive... That's a very sweet burial for a little baby bird, it shows you care
  15. They're very pretty I love the ino
  16. Haha you're one funny person derek Every post i see of yours makes me laugh for some reason or another
  17. I also might make a point that if the eggs are being kicked out of the nest that's very much so a hen thing to do.
  18. It's generally the hens that break the eggs when they're unsettled on the nests and get disrupted too often. Hens won't look after babies well by themselves. They barely leave the nest box to eat so the babies can starve and more often than not without a cock will abandom eggs and chicks.
  19. Are you sure it's a cock and not a hen??? I tend to find it's only hen babies who give the hard nips... cocks just nibble. My hens grow out of it with time, handling and patience... try to ignore it as best you can i'd say
  20. I's suggest taking the nest box out... She's obviously not a hen you'd want to breed with as she tromples her eggs and if it's not removed she'll lay until she kills herself. Welcome By The Way
  21. I agree with the silver brumby thought, perhaps they were confused, seeing a silver brumby is meant to be good luck, other than that maybe a silver cockatiel? they have those.
  22. Hehe it wasn't a spell check it was one of his jokes LOL again, i laughed LOL Still love the "Holy rubber batman" one hahah!
