Hank Prefers Bonnie
Aha....grated carrot and silverbeet eh? I'll give it a go hehe!

Hank Prefers Bonnie
Thing is....Hank doesn't even appear to like millet. So there goes the idea of bribing him. And Bonnie loves everyone *grin*...she's been trying to play with Hank since the day we got him. Hank is teasing me. I just know it. He smiles at me all day long and we get into a few healthy debates, but do you think he'll sit on my finger? Or my shoulder? Nahhhh!!!!

Silly Booboo
Karen how old is Booboo? That's so funny. Sounds like something Hank would do. He's a nutter too! Hehe...

Hank Prefers Bonnie
*sigh* Hank flew out of his cage and had a little wander around the floor today. He still wont come to me unless I force him, but what does he do today? He wanders over to the dog and hops on her tail for a spin around the house. Sheesh!

Making A Millet Necklace
Haha...I'm so glad bribery isn't frowned upon here. I attempted to seduce Hank this evening with a tiny piece of millet but he wasn't at all sure what it was and I gave up and put it in with his seed. I'm not at all sure how I'd go about making a millet necklace...all sorts of things come to mind (Laughing out loud). A piece of string with some paper clips? A rubber band? (Laughing out loud).....I bet you want to see photos of what works and what doesn't.

Making A Millet Necklace
I've been thinking.... *uhoh* What if I made a millet necklace, you know, sorta intertwined some millet around my neck, to encourage lil Hank to sit on my shoulder and feel safe with me. I don't mind the mess : ) Good idea? Or not?

May I Introduce Our New Baby
Elly thanks for the info...unfortunately I'm not sure if we have an avian vet around here, and Hank the little ratbag did something oopidstay so I actually just trimmed his wing feathers myself (I used to do my cockatiels years ago). The minute I trimmed his other wing the nutter flew straight into the glass sliding door Not hard though and he's fine, but man oh man I'm on edge every time he takes off. *makes mental note to self* Close all the blinds before I let him out so he can't see outside and aim for the doors. Thank you Karen. He's an absolute delight. Funniest little budgie I've ever known. My 14 year old son thinks he's 'cool' and they sit on the lounge watching telly together at night. Why didn't someone tell me how cute budgies were before? hehe...

Now Available An Article On Taming Your Budgies
Elly thank you so much for that article. It's very well written and easy to follow and will no doubt help me with my relationship with Hank (who just gets more and more adorable by the way (Laughing out loud)). Kudos to you : )

My Budgies And More!
Hi there Can I just bump this up and say what an awesome lot of boidies you have there Adam. I'm an absolute beginner, and know absolutely nothing about showing budgies, but I do appreciate beauty and have become quite addicted to this site. Fantastic colours in your flock. Huge avairies. I'm going to see if I can find a local boidy show to attend and check it out now : ) Cheers

May I Introduce Our New Baby
Can I ask a silly question? What happens to a boidy when both wings are clipped. Will he be able to fly at all? I've put it on my list of things to do tomorrow...*attempt* to clip his other wing, because yes he does fly. My son sat with him on the lounge for hours today, just snuggling and stroking him. I read that article, and it's awesome, very well written and informative. I did notice in that article that they hate to be stroked on the back and wings, but this lil guy doesn't seem to mind at all. But then again he's been 'touchable' since we first brought him home too, so perhaps he was hand raised? He was in with a whole heap of other budgies at the pet shop. He chose us actually.

May I Introduce Our New Baby
Thank you so much Elly, Macka, Feathers, Marlony, Nerwen and Billy Boy. I'm really pleased he's a boy boidy. All our other animals are female and my son needed some backup hehe. He's not a very easy lil munchkin to get out of his cage, or to hold, but once I have him, he's very sweet and lets me kiss him and smooch him. Today he bit me on the finger...yeee'ouch! Currently he's sitting on top of the printer right next to me nodding on and off. As you can see from today's photo, the pet shop clipped his wing before we brought him home. Just the one too. I've been reading the forums here about how that's not ideal. I'll let it grow out. I'd like him to feel free to fly about the house. My goal is to get him to love me enough that he'll fly TO me, and land on my shoulder [

Ratties and Budgies
Well I'm very glad I popped in here today. We've just been out to buy a lovely baby budgie. Not sure what sex it is yet, but we're thinking it's a 'he' and he's sitting here right beside me. We have a gorgeous lil rattie that we love to bits. But after reading this, we'll make sure they never meet. Pretty freaky stuff really.
