Thanks for replying Chrysocome, this was a bad clip because Spike pushed open a small door for his seed pot and flew straight to the ceiling bumping his head on it along the way and ended up on top of the ceiling fans as he liked both of them.. :(Laughing out loud): If the fans had of been on this would have been a different story :fear

Hello people of the BBC :hap: Well I'll start my little story here: As many people here know I needed an avian vet a while back for Huey :hap: and asked at a local Vet's to see if they had an Avian vet and was told yes so I said I need to see the Avian vet and made an appointment!!! The person I seen was very good, he asked lots of questions and gave detailed answers.. For my new budgie Spike I thought i would get his wings clipped and made an appointment with the vet (same place) asked to see the same avian vet but he had just gone on holiday, so seen a vet there who I didn't like and when home Spike was FLYING about everywhere the butt head didn't even do the wing clip right :hap: and he was suppose to be an avian vet too!! So anyway I get a letter from the vet a welcome letter okay no problem and then i read the bottom bit with the Doctors names and their qualifications are and find they all have B.V.Sc after their name and only 1 has B.V.Sc. M.V.S. M.A.C.V.Sc, with the help of Google i find out what this means. The last 1 with all the m's in it is the Avian Vet AND that's not the person i seen for the wing clipping also the Avian vet I 1st seen is not even on the list (I hope that either he's new OR/AND they haven't updated their letterhead in a while...

Hi Maesie yes that's what i'm going to do, ring em on Monday and tell them to make the 1st available time when he comes back from holiday and just use that two weeks time to tame him in his cage and get him used to you and your voice. spot on maesie.

Hi Neat Re: Vet I have not long got off the phone, the vet I seen on Wednesday IS an avain Vet and I told them he did the clipping wrong and can I see the avain vet that i seen last time!! no he's gone on 2 weeks holiday could you come back for a re clipp?? So I have made an time 4 Monday afternoon but the more i think about it the less i want to see this particular vet I DON'T like him Also reading some of the F.A.Qs in the bit about wing clipping yes/no shows which are the primary flight feathers and which are the secondary, well I'm not sure looking on Spike but it looks like the secondary or inner flight feathers have been clipped as the outer ones can still be seen :rip:
  21. Thank you Neat :ygbudgie: Thanks too birdluv

Well my plan was to let Spike settle for 24hrs and them get him out to do tunneling exercises and some step ups if he wanted to... Also I would have closed the dining room door and lounge door had I known he could still fly and not had the whole house open, I do mean fly as there was no fluttering about

Yes thanks I forgot to mention that I put a fresh cuttle bone in :hap: Hi Tracy he WAS quite not any more He's climbing and flying about his cage trying to find that great escape and has tried both seed+water feeders to see if it will work again :(Laughing out loud): Running about squawking when he can't get what he wants to happen!!The frozen corn is a top idea too!! will try some apple(no seeds)..And my vet hmm spike has to go back for free and this time I will see if I can get the 1st Avain vet I seen, also wing clipping should be done as a training aid Yes??
