I'm not a big cinnamon fan, but that cinnamon violet hen is absolutely gorgeous. They are all great though. Whereabouts in Malaysia is he off to and what camera are you getting? Feathers.
  2. Congratulations on the pink jelly beans. 50% spangle, 100% YF, blue or violet chicks. Feathers.

Great photos.... the more I see that Oz, the more I love him.... Feathers.
  4. I only have one of these birds now. A friend was totally in love with one of them and has taken him home. As I was getting some photos in the aviary the other day I took this "after" shot... AFTER BEFORE Not a trace of the scaley left and she is a very happy girl these days, do excuse her scruffiness though, a lot of my birds are moulting... Feathers.
  5. He is just such a gorgeous ball of fluff... the wing pins are starting to get a fluro geen tinge to them. Feathers.
  6. It has been a while since I took the camera for a walk in the aviary, so I snapped a few pics the other day. Here are just a few of the faces in there - without commentary. Feathers.
  7. The following photos are of a few of my toddler budgies, a couple of which will be in with the birds I am selling later this week. This first budgie is only 2 1/2 weeks, so won't be going anywhere.. I just put him in because he is cute... he's my little 'fluffybum' at present... This is Cuddlepot, she is 2 months old. Snugglepie went to his new home a couple of weeks back . The next 5 are all 3 months old and are looking very ragged as they are in the middle of moulting. Devi Bijou Kito Tayle and my pretty little Midori, who doesn't look so pretty moulting Feathers.
  8. I like re-arranging their toys as well. My inside birds used to get them changed about once a fortnight. In my aviary I move stuff around every month. I need to buy some more toys to replace some of the older ones at the moment. Feathers.
  9. Elle is absolutely lovely, Kaz. Both birds took all the good traits from mum, that's for sure. Feathers.
  10. Feathers replied to shellet's topic in New to BBC
It sure is. We have even had an inaugural meeting of the Western Australian branch of the BBC Forum! :yellowhead: We are a little overdue for the next meeting though.. we are all a little too busy at the moment, especially Kaz. Feathers.

Hi Shellet. I am sorting budgies for sale this weekend. They will be ready for sale from next Wednesday. Although I am sure that you will get a great selection from Kaz, her birds are all in fantastic condition. Feathers.
  12. Hi Kirsten, personally I would not put any other breed with budgies. They can be very agressive creatures and you could find other birds pecked, beaten up and dead on the floor. Budgies should be with budgies. Feathers.
  13. Your almost fledglings are beautiful! :yellowhead: Colony breeding is fine as long as you do it right and keep a close eye on them. There is a great article in our FAQ section on colony breeding... Colony Breeding vs Closed Breeding Feathers.
  14. Hi Vonn, that was an act of great love, to give him peace and to be so thoughtful with his burial. Fly free and fly long in sunshine filled skies, Lukie. *hugest hugz* to you and your husband. Feathers.
  15. Feathers replied to jamieo's topic in New to BBC
Hi Jameo, it certainly is a bird room you have there. You have well over $1000 worth of great size and quality cages. I love all your birds too, especially the conure and lorikeets. Feathers.
  16. One of mine died overnight too. Now the hen can concentrate all her energy on the healthy chicks that are left. I look forward to the pictures Feathers.
  17. The only way to be 100% sure that the budgie is drinking the water would be if you saw curly droppings on the floor, which would indicate that the solution is working and worms are being expelled. Whenever you are giving any medication in water you should withhold any vegetables so that they cannot get fluid from their food, as then they are more likely to drink their water. I think worming is a very good idea. I do mine twice a year. They are on a concrete floor in an outside aviary. Feathers.
  18. Unfortunately some chicks fail to thrive, despite being well fed by the parents. It is getting plenty of nutrition by the sounds of it. More often than not the chicks that fail to reach normal milestones die. I'd be inclined to let nature take it's course. Hand feeding won't make any difference. I have 2 in a nest at the moment with the same problem. Feathers.

Hello [waves] It is so lovely to be able to picture who I am texting to I also have a profile picture. Feathers.
  20. Hi Vonn, what a hard decision to make. The biggest hugz to you and give Lukie a little budgie kiss for me. Feathers.
  21. He is lovely, Norm. Looks like he has good feather. I think he looks a bit dishevelled too and an electrolyte, if you have it would be a great idea. How is he settling in? Feathers.
  22. Stunning bird! Her wing markings are fantastic. You can see that she would have blue underneath if she had full feathering. I hope that with a little TLC she improves and rewards you for your efforts. Feathers.
  23. Isn't it just. I often dadream about the windows I would like her to do in a new home... Feathers.
  24. It is lovely to see that your persistence is paying off... must be such a lovely feeling. Feathers.
  25. Fantastic pics.. I love the budgie on the lovebird Feathers.
