Weetbix
Hi Denise, I give mine (translation; he steals mine) cereal every morning. I only have wholegrain cereals, which he loves. I think weetbix should be okay, but as Kaz said, just check the ingredients. Aly

How Do You Insert Pictures!?
Hi Toffee, 1. First you need to upload your photo into an online photo sharing site, such as "Photobucket.com" (The following instructions assume that you used photobucket) 2. then, if you haven't already reduced them to less than 450 x 450 pixels, click on 'EDIT" and reduce them to email size. 3. Then click on "IMG Code" and it will automatically copy the information. 4. In your forum topic right click on your mouse and than press "paste" If you need further information click on "How to post Pictures" next to my signature picture at the bottom of the post. If you have any further questions, please ask :budgiedance: Feathers.

Cage Maintenance
Hi, rust, especially that which can be picked off cage parts by curious birdies, is very toxic to birds. Follow one of the methods described to use the rust and re-finish the cage and it should be great for another couple of years. Feathers.

New Addition
Hi Briony, It looks like it could be a boy, but it looks like it has a brown mark down the middle of the cere. A closer photo of the cere would be helpful. Feathers.

Yes You Guessed It… I’ve Been Buying Birds Again:
I didn't think so... I was buying birds like crazy up until about March, since then I seem to be in remission. Maybe that is just called being a pauper though Nice bloodlines to bring home though and you did restrain yourself. Having seen your prior purchases I am sure these are fantastic birds. Feathers.

Wings Flapping Madly While Sitting On Perch
Hi Vicky, I agree with Elly,. Anytime I see that behaviour it is always done for exercise of the wings. My 'pet' budgie does it sometimes eventhough he gets to fly everyday outside of his cage. Feathers.

Not Sure If A Mirror Should Be Kept In The Cage
Hi Vicky, personally, I would take the mirror out. It obviously isn't doing any harm, but he see's the 'other bird' as a flock member, so is less inclined to fit your into his flock, preferring the company of another budgie. They can also get quite attached to objects and this is common with mirrors. This can cause some behavioural problems, such as aggressiveness, which could increasingly be a problem when you want to take George out of the cage. Feathers.

Update On My Tcb’s:
Hi Norm, Good luck with them all, Norm. I can't see that there would be too many problems with brother and sister as long as they haven't had a too closely line bred background. I am looking forward to photos of these little chickies and I hope the cranky mum did not hurt the poor bub too Feathers.

We Found A Budgie
Hi Buuzbee, that looks like a juvenile budgie to me... it still has barring close to the cere. It may have a brown cere but is too young to breed. Hopefully you will be able to find the owner.. she is beautiful. I am glad she survived the 'wild'. Feathers.

Dilute Vs Greywing
Yeah, I was going through a 'ditsy' period back when he was in a breeding cage He was exactly what I thought he was to start with. Feathers.

Two Dominant Pieds
Kaz, what colour is the one that looks 'recessive'. You could end up with a YF grey double factor dominant pied Feathers.

Our Avairy Almost Ready For Birds....yippee
Hi Denise, It is fantastic... love the placement of the safety door too. I take it the hubby and his bro talked you out of having a concrete slab floor after having put up half of it before you told them The roofing is great and I love the skipping rope... my birds love them too. Great job, and you son is gorgeous Feathers.

Dilute Vs Greywing
Thanks for that, Nerwen... trust you Yes, but I didn't want to confuse the issue, so I didn't mention it. It is always you or Elly that throws in the corrections Feathers.

Dilute Vs Greywing
Hi again, Found one of my greywings to post... Curio (above) is a full body colour mauve greywing. Dilutes are very washed out in colour and have light tail feathers. The grey is very light and so is the body colour and tail. Whereas greywings have a darker grey, grey tails feathers and much less dilution. Looking at the other thread of Yuki, he is very definitely a greywing. The grey is way too dark to be dilute and he has grey tail feathers. Feathers.

Dilute Vs Greywing
Hi, there is a difference in the dilution of those two budgies posted, but you are right, it is quite subtle. Can you post better photos of your bird so we can see the front and the back. Oh-Oh is a dilute. The grey gets much lighter in a dilute too. Feathers.

Salad, Cereal, Fruit And A Worm?
Hi, thanks for the replies. Kazumi would agree that the cereal shots are the best too. I really do have trouble trying to eat my breakfast with Kazumi about. He gets IN the plate and ON the spoon. So far he likes Light and Tasty with Apple and Cranberry and Wholegrain Cornflakes. Feathers.

A Few General Questions
Hi Jason, 1. I agree, it sounds like he wants to come out of his cage. My indoor budgie does the same thing, tramples backwards and forwards until I let him out. 2. Wild birds can be a disease threat, so you need to find a way of stopping them getting onto the cage. Maybe some sort of cardboard over the top? 3. They are all different. Some will take within a couple of months, some take a year, some don't talk at all. 4. The different noises he is starting to make is all part of them trying out their vocalisation skills. Hope this helps, Feathers.
