Fighting
Both. I never saw who started it off first. But it really depends who is in the worser mood. Like if say Tweety was sitting peaceful, bluey would disurb her. And vise versa.

Fighting
My 2 budgies, Tweety And Bluey have been fighting quite a bit recently. which is basically anytime they go near eachother, although i have seen them feed eachother after meal times, but any other time they hav a go at eachother.

So What Now?
so you think i should let them come out purely on their own choice instead of me bringing them out on my finger? **edited for shortcuts

So What Now?
Yea i've tried the plate of goodies idea. They both enjoy a bath, they actually normally race eachother to it when i put it in their cage, so i put that outside the cage also. But they really don't want to leave the cage. When i try and bring them out, they panic and jump back into the cage. I don't want to force them out.

So What Now?
Yea they would normally be frightened on the first outtings i am going to try it today and see how it goes.

So What Now?
Well Finger Taming is going well. Tweety is now stepping up without Millet, and he sometimes feels anixious to get on as she likes to chew the tips of fingers quite a bit and play with my thumb. Bluey On the other hand, steps up with millet there, but he was thinking about stepping up without it but he decided to back away. Tweety would back away from time to time but she does step up on her own which is good progress. When would a good time to bring one or both birds outta the cage for some room training?

Lukie And The Sparrow Hawk
I wouldn't be suprised if the little bird froze after seeing the Sparrow Hawk (Laughing out loud). Although whats quite wierd, every time by german shepherd enters the living room, my 2 birds get very quiet and cautious, although Max is afraid of budgies due to the old inncident with my old Bird Tweety, who used to basically attack Max from inside the cage, as one day when tweety was sitting happily, Max strolled over for a sniff, and NIP! Max Squealed and ran like a baby. Was so funny. Tweety chirped for hours after that.

He's Gone From Good To Evil !
Well my 2 haven't started biting yet, but i know not to react. Just made great progress with Bluey. He had stepped out on my finger, without me encouraging him and without millet.

He's Gone From Good To Evil !
Oh god i hate that phase, and since both of mine are about to hit 3 months. Think of the masacare (Laughing out loud). Bluey is starting to step up on finger alot more often, but hard to get to train tweety as Bluey refuses me to attempt to train her.

Millet Spray
Aw Right, I was giving them Millet once every few days. At least this will cut the mess down, and they hav started to venture to the bottom of the cage as i added a letter, which tweety loves as she keeps going on it. The taming is going back and forth, one day good bit of progress is made and the next day they dont wanna know. I think when i hav got them into separate parts of the cage, training when better. I was going to try and bring them outta the cage and try and train them outside like i did my last one which proved well, but i'll wait till i gain more of their trust.

Millet Spray
When i leave millet hangin the cage, they normally make a huge mess all over the table and floor. And they always seem to pull it down when the spray isn't finished. Where is the best spot to put millet to avoid this? Also they both never wanna venture to the bottom of the cage, no matter wat. As i was thinking of putting the millet down there but they never go down to get any of it.

Taming Help
Training is going okay. Bluey is starting to step up a few times with one foot, but requires alot of encouragement, he even has stepped up fully but when he realises wat has happened he gioes to the perch. Tweety on the other hand is just aint interested. I offer he millet but it takes huge enocouragement at times for her to eat some from my hand, although if she sees bluey eating she will do also. i hav managed her to step up on one foot once, but it was brief. I've noticed it is so hard to train budgies when there is another budgie in the cage. Ex-Tweety was trained so fast it was unbelievable, but i guess different birds, different speeds. I have a question though, When i leave millet in the cage, they normally make a huge mess all over the table and floor. And they always seem to pull it down when the spray isn't finished. Where is the best spot to put millet to avoid this? Also they both never wanna venture to the bottom of the cage, no matter wat. As i was thinking of putting the millet down there but they never go down to get any of it.

Taming Help
(Laughing out loud) Yea. Ex-Tweety was alone in the cage. And everytime she saw u enter the room or breathed a noise she screamed with happiness. She would jump to the side of the cage of where u were for attention. She thought she was a human thinking she cud sit on the sofas, watch tv, do everything herself. She refused to ever be brought outta the cage by herself, she would jump on the door and fly straight towards u. She managed to even make tons of great escapes. she always lifted the seat container, spilled it, and climbed out, and everytime, she scared the living *** outta me as i would probably taking a nap and then the next second i look, she was just infront of me chirping. I had some alone time for a training session finally. Working like a charm. Although bluey refuses tweety of getting some of the millet. He kept approaching, taking a bite, and running back across. I moved the millet so far that he wud have to step up on my finger, He was so close many of times but didn't get there, but hey early days yet

Taming Help
Yea its working great. I was gaining his trust. He was eating the millet, i was slowly moving it towards my hand, but haven't got a chance to do it as my nephew and nieces come in screaming the place down and coming very close to the cage. I've always found the hand taming the hardest. With my old bird who lived to 10 years old. The day i got him to go on my hand, he was shoulder trained almost instantly.

Taming Help
(Laughing out loud) Suppose, When i've gotten tweety alone, she would allow me to approach and she would not move a muscle, She would allow me to stroke her chest at times. She has given me a few quick nips aswell showing that she is becoming less afraid of my hand as she plucked up the courage to nip it. Do u think it wud be best if i kept my hand in one place of the cage and not approach them? Let them approach my hand?
-
Taming Help
It seems that the longer they are together the more they would move from my hand. In the beginning i was makin good progress and when they started bonding they would normally run together. Like if bluey decided i want to move over to the other side of cage, tweety followed. Although when my hand is near, and steady, they wont run because they are together. i'll keep trying.

Taming Help
I think i'll try the hand in cage method, I won't move it towards them, i'll just camly keep it in the one place until they work up the nerve to approach it. I think the male is more frightned than the female
-
Taming Help
okay i was slowly getting my 2 birds used to my hand. They would let me stroke them. But now they run from my hand every time it enters the cage. I don't like to wing clip so what should i do?
-
Jealous Female!
I wud consider adopting another male for the new hen and remove them both to bond with eachother.

The Fighting Has Stopped
Well they are still fighting at times but its normally only when one gets in the other ones way. But when they never liked eachother tweety used to just run the second bluey shown any hostility. But if bluey is just being unreasonable in trying to get her out of the way, tweety wud actually fight back probably thinking, 'hey no u cant just say move and get ur way.' I find it hilarious. All my hard work so far taming is abit ruined as my niece who is 1 and a half sorta frightened the birds. I caught her keep rapidly poking her fingers into the cage and the birds were completely frightned. I hav still been able to stroke their breasts but they are very watchful as they move away at first. bluey was actually flying over to the other side of the cage at the sight of my hand at first. But i am confident I can get them finger tame. I really don't want to clip their wings, I never clipped my last one's wings, he always loved flying around the room. He was never a finger person, he wud always nip u and then fly on ur shoulder, i guess he sorta always wanted to make his own way over to you and it seemed to always be ur shoulder.

The Fighting Has Stopped
Well the fighting between my 2 new lovely birds has stopped. Tweety (Albino, Female) And Bluey (Blue, Male). Although bluey has firmly took over the role of king of the cage even though normally the first one in owns it. Tweety doesn't mind though as bluey is week older. They seem to be grooming eachother, well tweety likes to groom bluey more like (Laughing out loud) and i've seen some kissing aswell. They've also snapped outta their quiet spell, they have started chirping abit. still not alot but the odd time they would, especially when they eat. They no longer fight when they eat, they take turns going down to the feeder, i will try and get another feeder soon, but i dont want to confuse them. It seems tweetly likes to sit on the sides of the cage, with her beek around the bars, is this normal? seems wierd because she constantly does it when Bluey is sitting on the yellow water tub thing. Taming is going okay, they dont run as much from my hand when i put it in cage, and i am able to stroke them both without them fleeing (Laughing out loud). Although if they see that someone else is around the cage while my hand is there, they seem afraid and do flee, Why is that? Also i am trying to do the up on finger method but to success but i am hoping if one is comfortable to perch on my finger the other will see that its safe and wud like to do so also. What should i do?

Help With New Budgie Fighting
I don't think i'm able to get a new one for quite some time. I'll probably breed in a few years and keep 1 or 2 of those and give rest to friends and cousins. Main thing now is to get them to attach to eachother and then finger taming

Help With New Budgie Fighting
Hi guys. I really need help. On Friday 10th I had purchased a new white Budgie. And again today the 14th I had got a blue to keep eachother company. I got both from the same place, and were bred from the same breeder. The white one was very curious and had been watching the blue one eat. Then the white one had ate after the blue one did. The blue one had then took the white's usual spot on sitting on this yellow toy in the corner of the cage. And there is only 1 place for a budgie there. The white one has been trying to get up beside the blue one but the blue one fights him away, and the white one flies. They are both 8 weeks old, white is female and blue is male. When the blue one had moved off the toy the white one again tried to approach the blue one but the blue one had none of it and had just fought her away. He obviously doesn't mind her being there but not in his way. My theory is maybe the blue one just wants to get used to his new surroundings first before anything happens? What should I do?
