I'm not sure on how true that is, it might have been down to the way the cages where set up. Some need the sound of others breeding start their cycle and some do better when the can see another pair across the way (another cage) Also not all budgies will like the bird that 'we' pair them too. Trying a different partner will sometime result in a successful clutch.

Well the first pair are 1 and 5(its the males last year of breeding) and the second are both 3 years of age.
We know for one thing is that they are not related because we checked with their owners before buying them.
The second pair have sort of paired already but a few nights ago, the first pair started fighting on the bottom of the breeding cage, do you have any ideas of why this behaviour is occuring between this pair?
