June Budgie Of The Month - Winner!
Thanks you guys. I love this picture too. It just kind of happened when we were taking a photo shoot of him. Ever since he became a hand reared budgie he has become one of the most loving budgie ever. I am trying to keep regular updates coming. As I mentioned earlier, it was during one of these update shoots that this occurred. I was going for one of my close up shots and he d4ecided to yawn at just the right moment. So, keep a look out for more Turkey pics in the future. ~Melissa

Wet Budgie Contest
Thanks everyone. That was Skyler first attempt at a bath and he kind of fell in. So, of course I couldn't help but snap some shots of him, and this one turned out perfect. Thanks and I'm glad that you like the picture and Skyler is as well.

Meet Tassel
Tassel is one of the babies that we have growing up right now but as of today he/she is our new angel baby. Dazie is doing awesome but this morning I went to check on them in the box and found tassel in a corner alone while all the others were together in another corner. I checked on him and he was not fed and cooler than he should have been so we have him set up in Turkey's first cage. Be ready to get updates on this little guy as well because if everything goes well he/she will end up staying with us as well. Any way here are some pictures from this morning. What a sweet face http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/mgr...526bubs0005.jpg Moderator’s Message this picture is oversized, turned to link Already loves to snuggle would you say gray wing or dilute I just like this picture Thats it until next time!!! ~Melissa

Turkey
I believe that he is a yellow face type 2 (because his wings are yellow as well) clear wing cobalt or violet (I've heard both). Anyone with a more sure answer please post here.

That sounds like a great idea to me. It would be awesome to see what people come up with.- June Budgie Of The Month
Name: Turkey Age: 6 weeks Description: Turkey is my heart and soul budgie. His mother neglected him and his 4 other siblings. He is the only one that survived. He is the second budgie that my mother and i hand raised and the first to survive the rearing process. Now that he is eating and drinking on his own he is my most tame budgie that I have ever owned. I can not believe that this journey is just beginning but I am looking forward to sharing my life with this little guy for the next 10-15 years!!!- My Little Ham........i Mean Turkey
Thanks!!! As of today he is 6 weeks and 4 days old- Baby Pictures

Well another week has past by and my oh my the changes that have happened to this little guy are amazing. He is gorgeous, I believe a dilute yellow face type ? dominant pied cobalt, or something of that nature. Anyway, be advised there are a ton of pictures here that may cause cuteness overload!! Enjoy!!! http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/mgr...urkey/Turk6.jpg The classic pose I'm a big bird now!!! http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/mgr...rkey/Turk43.jpg I learned to perch this week and, preen myself not to mention the hardest of them all, I'm learning to eat on my own!! http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/mgr...urkey/Turk1.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/mgr...rkey/Turk26.jpg I'm pretty from the back...... ......but I'm best from the front Heres a cute close up Time for a nap. Here is his first video, a little blurry but cute all the same!! http://s29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/mgr...501turk0049.flv Hope you enjoyed them!!!!- Meet Turkey
I had a chance to take more pictures of "Turk" yesterday. We just got done with a feeding so he/she is kind of messy. Any way enjoy!! I can stand all by myself!!! http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/mgr...2turkey0002.jpg Yes, I am a messy eater Yellow face blue!! http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/mgr...2turkey0015.jpg I am looking either like a gray wing or a dilute!! Thats all for now!!!- Meet Turkey
Well as some of you may have read a few weeks ago Tiki and Caesar decided to start another clutch. Everything was going well, everyone was fed and warm but then as we all know Caesar can be her mood switched dramatically!! She left the babies with nothing and seeing as last time she did this she plucked her babies we took them out straight away. We started with 4 and we now have one tough survivor!! He/she has been dubbed Turkey, since when he sees us and during feedings he sounds like a turkey. So, any way here he/she is: I look pretty good for being 2 weeks and 2 days old. Are you my momma?? Thats a pied beak if I ever saw one!!! http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/mgr...5turkey0019.jpg Can you see the yellow? http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/mgr...5turkey0020.jpg Enough for now, snuggling up with his giraffe. I love seeing what they'll turn out to be. He/she is my first hand reared baby, we've been doing this for about a week now and he seems to be doing very well. Can't tell if you can see in the pictures but Turkey is definitely going to be a yf, and the dark doesn't seem as dark as on my other babies in the past. Tiki and Caesar have produced a dilute so we shall see. I'll keep you posted on the progress. ~Melissa- What Are The Possibilities
Skyler and Dazie have decided to become parents. She laid her first egg on 3-11 and number 3 was laid today. So far she is doing really well. Any way here are their pics: Dazie, my golden face dominant pied lady: Skyler, my normal sky blue dilute: We have also paired up my experienced mom and pop budgies. So far Ceaser and Tiki currently have 2 eggs with the second arriving this afternoon. In the pas we have gotten dominant pied yellow faced opalines, dominant pied yellow faced blues, and we even received a opaline sky blue dilute. Here are their pics. Ceaser, my dominant pied yellow face type 1 cobalt blue hen: Tiki, my opaline yellow face type 1 opaline cock: And, one of the happy couple: Thanks in advance!! ~Melissa- They Finally Have Names.....
First is Petrie. It was a tough decision to reuse the name but he reminded me too much of her not to call him that. So Petrie he became!!! What a silly bird!!! Petrie and his favorite toy. A bell with, a spoon, fork, and knife hanging from it The other two were named after a movie..... Smokey and the Bandit Cute little fluffy bird..... He looks so proud!!! Now here's Bandit: So weet and innocent..... I found a new place to hide!!! Well there you have it!!! Hopefully that will hold you for a little while. ~Melissa- What Are They?
What about the wing color on the green one, would you say graywing?- What Are They?
New pics, hope these help out some!!!- What Are They?
I'm at school right now but I'll check for ya when I get home. I'll also get some better pictures of the both of them. Here is the origional tail shot I have of the green one, its blurry but like I said I'll get more tonight or atleast tomarrow morning. And, no on the names but we're working on it. ~Misty- Meet My New Boys
Thanks for all of the support!!! I think it was just areally difficult thing to be feeding him and playing with him to having him in my hands taking his last breath. I really needed the kind words to get me through it. You guys rock!!! We have 2 eggs now and I'm hoping that everything will go well. Again thanks, Melissa- Meet My New Boys
I really don't know how to say this right now but my new members are one less as of this mornig. We were feeding the baby and there was an accident where he fell. He must have landed wrong because he died in front of us. I am am beside my self with guilt right now. After losing Houdini, and now Turk, as we named him last night because he looked like a turkey when he ate, I don't know what to do. I love my birds dearly but right now I feel that they may be happier and safer somewhere else. Please don't think of me as a bad person but I really don't know right now. ~Melissa- What Are They?
I just wanted to fins out what my two boys are. I'll give you my ideas then you tell me what you think. Here is my first little guy: I believe he is a yellow face type 2, either a dilute or graywing because of his body color, clearwing? My second little guy: I believe is a golden face dominant pied spangle? graywing http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/mgr...926bubs0010.jpg Thanks 1 photo was oversized. Please keep all photos under 450 X 450. Thank you, Feathers.- Meet My New Boys
With all that has been happening I haven't had the time to post pics or even comment about our new boys. Two were brought home within 3 days of each other and the other is a baby that we are hand raising (since Caeser plucked him and stopped caring for him. Here are some pics of the baby: I believe he is going to be a yellow face type 2 sky or colbalt blue. Hello world!!! Nice and full, my moms are taking great care of me. I look pretty good for a 20 day old!!! Now for the two that joined the house: The first one is a yellow face something, what do you think? Aren't I handsome??!? Such pretty, clear wings I just love this picture. The second one is a golden face (although he looks green in the pics, there is definate blue on him) dominant pied gray wing. (he also looks to me like ho could have some spangle feathers but I'm not too sure. What a cutie!!! http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c254/mgr...926bubs0010.jpg What pretty wings!!! you can see some of the blue in this picture. As always name suggestions are appreciated. Hope that satisfied some picture needs!! 1 photo changed to a link as it exceeded board guidelines of 450 x 450 pixels. Feathers. - Members' Recessive Pieds
