  2. Fixed your photo links .....you had two lots of IMG in brackets before and after each link. Your budgie is a female
  3. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?app=forums&module=forums&section=rules&f=81 Picture/Image Sizes: MUST be 640 x 480 pixels or under. It is understood that not all images can be resized exactly, but if this is the case, you must attempt to get the pixel dimensions down to as close to 640 x 480 as possible. Sizes deemed to large by Administrators or Moderators may be removed from posts. Follow this to upload your photos to the forum for use in any post you make: 1. Join Photobucket and click "Join Up - It's free". Fill out what is needed and upload your pictures by logging into your account. It is a very safe and user friendly service. 2. You will need to click on the tab “my albums” followed by the sub-tab “albums & upload” once logged into your account. This page allows you to select where your images are located. In most cases, this will be on your computer. If this is the case, select “my computer” in the grey section entitled “from” on the left side of your screen. Before clicking “choose files” (which is where you will select your images to upload), be sure to select 320x240 pixels (medium) OR 640x480 pixels (large). SIZE is a big issue with photos, so remember to adjust this before uploading any files. 3. To choose the photos you wish to use, click on “choose files” and you will be directed to your computer files. Select the files you want to upload and click “open”. The files will automatically start uploading to Photobucket. If you wish to upload more than one file at a time, you can use the bulk uploader. This link is found just below where you would upload individual files. Photobucket will confirm your upload and ask you to enter image information. Enter this information and click “save and continue”. Your photo(s) are now in Photobucket and can be used on our forums. 4. Your uploaded images are now displayed below the image uploader. If you wish, you may click edit. This will take you to the new edit features. In here, you can crop, change colours and do almost anything to your photo. The most important feature is the RESIZE. Click on this button and enter your dimensions. If you make any changes to your image, click save and either overwrite existing image or save another copy. 5. To go back to the main Photobucket screen, click on "albums & uploads" (top left hand corner) 6. To add photos to your post on our forums, go back to the forum making sure you keep your Photobucket page open. Either start a new topic, or reply to one. When you want to add a picture, simply scroll down to the picture you want to add and click on the IMG code. This will copy it. Then go back to your post and paste it there (either ctrl v, or right click and paste). When you preview your topic or post your topic, your photo should appear and be the correct size. Please ensure your photo is the correct size by right clicking on it in your post and selecting “properties” and check the image dimensions. Ensure the dimensions are close to 640x480 pixels. If not, please remove your newly added code and repeat steps 2-6. If you are still unable to get a correctly sized image into your post, please make a new topic in this forum and staff will help you out. By all means you can use other photo editing programs and hosting services, just remember to always put the IMG code into your posts and replies. For members, it can be annoying when you have to click on numerous links to view members photos, just because they can't be bothered resizing or don't know how. Often members will bypass your post and not even read it because of this. Please try to keep to the size limitations and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask any of the staff. We are happy to help if you are willing to have a go and follow the rules.
  4. A brown cere on a female.........cere peeling away to reveal the white and blue underneath
  5. Got the picture yet ??
  6. Read this http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=28026
  7. Generally you will see improvement within two weeks
  8. Dont be too worried. There is usually a window allowing for a slight excess. Sometimes I have used up to three drops by accident and the bird is fine. they usually allow for the one drop being for an average 30 gram bird and birds vary in weight.
  9. I plant them in my plantpots.
  10. Based on ALL the info you have provided I say male with hormonal issues..........can be just hormonal imbalance or a testicular cancer issue too. By the way.....females also hump inanimate objects too but dont leave behind "evidence"

I feel badly for you and your loss..............what a terrible way to learn a lesson I also want to say your tribute to your feathered friend was very special and straight from the heart. I enjoyed reading your account of his life with you and it brought tears to my eyes.
  12. The holes werent quite right........a little too tight thats all.
  13. The mistake a lot of people make is underestimating the vital need for sunlight for birds to be able to process calcium to their bodies. Inside birds should not be put down to breed without definite abundance of calcium levels reinforced by outside sunlight for quite some time, not glimpses through the curtains here and there. The fact that most of the babies have issues means you are doing something really wrong, be it breeding birds who dont get vitamin D3 from the sun and cant process calcium or you may be misunderstanding the additional calcium needs your birds have to be able to breed successfully. Stop breeding and learn before you breed any more article http://www.burkesbackyard.com.au/factsheets/Birds/Vitamin-D:-A-Sick-Budgie-Breakthrough/6123 A girl I know kept all her budgies inside for all of the 2-3 years I knew her and then put them down to breed. She also had all kinds of trouble with calcium deficient babies with rickets.
  14. All good Great photo
  15. Besides the surface in the nestbox what calcium supplements are you using and for how long before breeding ? What sunlight do your birds get ?
  16. I agree with Clearwing. He isnt a halfsider.
  17. Hey Robyn............... I dont have a maintenance or cleaning plan in place yet, as its only been 24 hrs since putting them in there. I am flying by the seat of my pants as far as how to clean a sand floor aviary now. I guess I could lightly sweep up debris and scoop it up and bag and bin it. BUT I was also told not to put plastic down as it keeps the water there if it gets in. Its best if any water gets in to automatically put Coccivet in the drinking water just in case they get coccidiosis from wet droppings. The budgies were so noisy that not even the radio turned up loud would shut them down...we wished for earplugs Noone could see them due to tinted windows but I am sure they could hear them at the traffic lights each time we stopped
  18. How terribly disappointing and stressful for both you and your birds. Top priority making the area safe and sealed for predators.
  19. Im sure your friend only had the best intentions in mind and made a silly mistake = totally human. My friend is not the "sharpest tool in the shed" unfortunately and I am on call to rescue her birds so many times its not funny. I teach her stuff and it goes in one ear and out the other. She doesnt retain information. SO many pet stores sell them, would they if they were harmful? Because they are clueless about anything that happens after they sell a product that gives them a profit margin. They dont ask for feedback from purchasers and the purchasers dont usually complain to a pet store if things go wrong. Like the many many birds hung by the fringing on rope toys and they are still for sale in pet stores. Like the sandpaper sold in pet stores that shouldnt be. The "mite protectors" sold in pet stores that give off vapours harmful to birds and dont work for mites and so on. Toys and items being safe for birds is NOT REGULATED. If its was baby toys it would be different . What can we do to keep the budgies warm in the dreadfully cold winters? Believe it or not they grow feathers Ofcourse there are no snuggle huts in the wild, but wild budgies are more prone to sickness and death at a younger age due to environmental pressures. What has that got to do with snugglehuts ?? Its more to do with predators and breeding deaths
  20. Most of the budgies stayed down one end of the aviary for awhile. They seemed to feel either vulnerable or they had got used to being cosy in the cages. So I put some shadecloth outside down the other end and then they shared the space a little better. Ended up with too many in one aviary and not as many in the other, but that was due to one aviary being finished first. Didnt want to chase them around the catch some up and move them once they were settled. I will in a day or two though.
  21. There is a setting in photobucket and you can specify an upload size and 480 by 640 is one of the options.
  22. Please size photos in your photobucket uploads and post the IMG links so we can see them all at once without having to use one link at a time. Allowable bbc sizes are 480 by 640
  23. Total budgies 205 if I counted right All done will do some photos later.
  24. Yep we took them all in the Murano five cages on the lower level and three on the top level. Currently completing aviaries with Perches food and water. One aviary complete now........has 140 budgies in it. One aviary to go
