  1. Try endive also as a green they will eat.
  2. Put her back just the same. Only leave them out if fully feathered. She isnt yet so put her back
  3. If you cage up birds for a show, put them inside the house. Its only one night anyway. I have no faith in bicarb soda either

    Me too
  5. Mine arent either. Give each aviary 6 large carrots in the evening and by morning there is nothing left and all budgies have orange faces Mine will eat lemons, oranges and grapefruit though. Sometimes apple but other fruit rarely. While everyone says their budgies eat broccoli mine wont either. Mine love corn on the cob though and greens like bok choy and pak choy over silver beet anyday of the week
  6. No birds get in these ones

Hi Pops, you cant give her a budgie friend that stays with her and doesnt fly away unless you were to catch her and cage her up. A partner of the opposite sex ( if she is a she ) may only present breeding and health problems anyway. If you are worried about how she will survive in the winter, maybe you should try and catch her up and give her a large flight cage to ensure her safety.
  8. It's enough to make you cry or go mad
  9. Stace, I reckon the snake is still around because the mice are there.
  10. You can safely use plaster as your hardener.
  11. In most cases the birds cant get at the polyester and cement stuff anyway...so I think you should be fine. If worried use wire
  12. **KAZ** replied to Dario's topic in New to BBC
Dont worry about it By the way we have forum breeders lists in the Wanted to Buy part of our forum if it helps
  13. Budgie boys flirt with and chat up other budgies boys in the aviary, as well as girls. Dont talk yourself into all this stuff meaning her wants or needs a girlfriend. Its a social thing with budgies.........flirting and chatting up anything that either moves or doesnt move. If you have ever seen budgies bonking their drinker, sides of cage, perch .....anything at all really, you will soon find it females as well as males that masturbate against objects or bonk anything or flirt with anything. it isnt just a male thing about needing a girlfriend. You are denying him nothing
  14. Another idea for stuffing holes....I had some leftover polyester batts ( you can also use polyester stuffing from pillows, soft toys or crafts ) and i dipped it into leftover cement mix or tile grout or tile adhesive.........then pushed it into the holes where is sat and set.
  15. Must be said there is a big difference in types of cat litter between countries. There's a cat litter here thats clay based and is really good for bottom of cages and even nestboxes. FUSSYCAT cat litter is good. We dont have corn cob bedding here or the carefresh stuff I hear talked about in the USA and I am kinda glad we dont.

Very good to have you here. loved your intro...very newsy and I feel like we know you already
  17. Yeah I agree. BUT by the time it was pointed out judging was done and dusted and it was on the top bench and I had the certificate in hand
  18. IM SORRY BUT THIS HEN IS A COCK I agree with GB. Its a cock.
  19. I think your bird is a recessive pied. I have a dominant pied who has NO IRIS RINGS and was judged best dominant pied in a show despite the no iris rings. Someone suggested my dominant pied was bred from split recessive parents but searching its parents history it turned out to be not so. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=27593&st=20
  20. I would be ropeable if I found mice going through my seed and it was going to affect my birds health Sounds like you will win in the end Splat as you are so determined.
  21. Excellent point and one that was missed.
  22. same quality as the other ones you posted. They are all thin wire and the wire tends to rust at the joins even when not in wet weather.

  24. Got a suggestion if you are limited on space. How about making a suspended aviary ? Waist height upwards on legs. Plantpots underneath or put it over some garden. Again wider rather than taller.
