  4. The Hot Rod Spectacular is on this weekend at Burswood Dome. http://www.autocult.com.au/Event.aspx?id=31 http://www.burswood.com.au/Shows-and-Promo...ine+Spectacular We have been invited to display our 1959 Cadillac Hearse along with other 1959 Cadillacs, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1959 cadillac models. So, I have been very busy with both my leadlight work and preparing the hearse for display and sorting out props appropriate to the hearse for an "interesting "display. I may not be around much over the next few days due to both work commitments and the Hot Rod Show. But if anyone's interested I will take some photos. There is likely to be photos in hotrod magazines later on as well of this show, and not necessarily the hearse. My husband managed to buy a coffin and a full sized skeleton, anmd we have the usual spook type display pieces as well. Ken named the skeleton LURCH Tomorrow we set up the dislay and Saturday at 9 am the doors open to the public.
  5. Not ON the beak........IN the beak String is a dangerous thing to have on a chick in a nestbox. The makeup sponge stays where it is put and string doesnt.
  6. Babies in nestboxes pick and eat whats on the floor so I would not use sand.
  7. Thank's for that, have added a bit more shavings to box so they all have a more solid footing. Keeping everything crossed, wont use inserts again. Will keep up calcium as added help. Robyn they now need something more solid under them, so may I suggest ( if you have any ) put an inch of natural claybased kitty litter in the box with the shavings on top.
  8. The very reason I put clearwings into the TOO HARD BASKET
  9. **KAZ** replied to Simon's topic in Off Topic Chatter
Topic moved into off topic as quails are not budgies.... Questions regarding health and support etc. of other animals besides budgies will be removed. However, feel free to post about your other pets with images etc.
  10. Robyn, if you are using the makeup sponge method, cut away a lot of the excess sponge so they can manouvre better and stabilise so they dont tip over. Check distance between holes in sponge and also make sure the legs and feet get proper circulation as it can be restricted some with sponge if holes are too small.
  11. Mine are named based on personality, or looks or even named after the person I got them from PS Not all of my birds are named....just the special ones.
  12. Nubbly, I really think Shannon has done very well pairing that cock to his clearwing hen. He has acchieved what he set out to do, to improve his clearwing splits. Look forward to seeing those chickies grow on.
  13. In the USA I believe ou can buy ivermectin type product called SCATT...............same thing. http://www.pets-megastore.com.au/product_i...?products_id=13 For scalyface mite I do not believe you need to do cage and perches. Its within the bird not external to the bird.
  14. Yes you will
  15. youngest one is...not too sure about the eldest.
  16. Nice heads on those babies with width over the cere and directional feather :emoticon112: Masks a little shortish but they are nice chicks.
  17. If you read the post above she says there is splayed legs  is it splayed legs though? (youre confusing me :what:) huh? theres another topic about the splayed legs from the same nest ... whats going on ..... lol! im getting very confused :emoticon112: YES........it is SPLAYED LEGS.
  18. I use nesting material all the time. Some mothers will remove if prior to egglaying, but once you have chicks you should start pputting it back in. At that point the mother is too busy to try removing it. The slippery base of the nest is most of that problem.
  19. If you read the post above she says there is splayed legs :emoticon112:
