  2. I wont disappear this topic Renee as, if left alone, it will end up on Google or other searches and maybe we can educate to the actual definition of a bird mill. This forum is about education after all. In my minds eye bird mills are about tiny cramped conditions, filthy, dead birds, mass breeding, pet trade orientated only, birds bred at first sign of a coloured cere whether they are of age or not, commercial gain, lives lived and died in breeding cages with no room to fly. I can sleep at night knowing my birds are absolutely spoilt in so many ways. A lot of birds in the world even those owned by the do gooders who loudly proclaim bird rights, .....a lot live their lives in substandard cages. I know how to turn to other cheek and I have done as well as report an extremely abusive email sent to me with no right to reply as the answer is blocked. However, its time to speak out so others will read..................that just because you breed birds does not make you someone who runs a bird mill.
  3. There is a serious slandering campaign going on
  4. What is your definition or understanding of what a bird mill is ? I have been accused of running a bird mill and told I will be in jail for animal abuse. Animal abuse ? based on suggesting pepper is a good bleeding stopper and abuse based on breeding the amount of birds I have. Mind you I currently have only two pairs in breeder cages :raincloud: Thoughts ??
  5. Despite a very rough night in the flights last night............all birds were flying about madly into walls and mesh as something had frightened them......the greywing babies are coping very well.

  11. Paypal will reverse the payment made. They do it all the time. What is PayPal Buyer Protection? Question : Answer : If you bought something on eBay but didn't receive it or you received something that's significantly not as described, PayPal can help. PayPal Buyer Protection will cover eligible transactions for the full purchase price plus original postage charges. (Some purchases, including vehicles in the Motors category, capital equipment in the Business & Industrial category and Property, aren't eligible for PayPal Buyer Protection.) To qualify for PayPal Buyer Protection: * Use PayPal to purchase an eligible item on eBay. * Pay for the item with one payment. Items purchased with multiple payments are not eligible. * Send the payment using the Pay Now button or the eBay invoice. * Let the seller know there's a problem with the transaction by opening a dispute in the Resolution Centre within 45 days of the payment date. Then, escalate the dispute to a claim within 20 days of the date you opened the dispute. * Keep your PayPal account in good standing. I received something I bought on eBay and it's not how it was described in the listing. What can I do? Question : Answer : An eBay item should be accurately represented in its description. If you received an item that's different than described, go to eBay's Resolution Centre for help. Here's how: 1. Log in to your eBay account 2. Click eBay Security & Resolution Centre at the top of the page. Alternately, you have the option to file a dispute through the PayPal Resolution Centre. Note that you must resolve the transaction in the same resolution Centre that you first reported the problem. Here’s how to reach the PayPal Resolution Centre: 1. Log in to your PayPal account. 2. Click Resolution Centre at the top of the page. PayPal has several programmes to help protect your purchases. To learn how our dispute process works, view our How to Dispute a Transaction guide in the Resolution Centre.

  17. The point being made is, its a continual process and the wire needs washing often. Once is not enough. Zinc is a metal coating and cannot be washed off with vinegar and water Some common aqueous acids, from strongest to weakest: hydrochloric acid (HCl) carbonic acid (H2CO3) acetic acid (CH3COOH) Some common aqueous bases, from strongest to weakest: sodium hydroxide (NaOH) ammonia (NH3) sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) http://www.wibrow.com.au/0/1/11/Zinc-Plating.html

  20. Dont give up hope....she may still be around. I have got a few back that I thought were gone forever. Do a letterbox drop in the neighbourhood and leave messages at the vets and any bird places nearby. I have often found other peoples birds clinging to the outside of our aviary. If you know anyone or any places with large aviaries near you the birds are attracted to the sounds of large aviaries and go there if anywhere.
