  1. I have found in that post - some do it once and never put it on again, some 2-3 times a year, and i believe once every 3 months also comes up. I personally do it twice a year, but i would do it more than that if i suspect that they require it Thanks Lozza
  2. Hi guys, Recently ive decided to revisit my budgie feeding habits to see if I can improve on anything I do currently. If you have any ideas of things I should add/take out, please post! This forum is extremely helpful – and I have found myself mixing up my budgies diets after some of the very informative posts here. Twice a day I feed them a high quality seed mix I purchase in 20kg quantities. I also give them Bok Choy, Thistle, Grass, Celery and a small amount of lettuce (I am going to try other green vegetables – as I want to mix up their diet and try new things) After recently hearing on this forum about giving budgies guinea pig pellet mix – as a additive to their diets – ive taken this into my own feeding habits and now give them limited amounts (normally a handful) twice a week – Monday and Friday usually. Once a month I put red cordial in their water (after hearing about the benefits medically on this forum). I also give them honey stick treats – ones I make from a recipe found here. Also cuttlebone is always available to my birds all year round. Also in regards to water, I also worm my birds with a product mixed into their water – I can’t remember the name of it right now, but I thought I should just mention it I also treat my birds with invermectin – one drop on the back of each bird’s neck – normally do this twice a year (once every 6 months). I am planning to also provide Eucalyptus branches/leaves and Bottle brush branches/leaves (when I find somewhere I can get them from – as we don’t have any at home). I will be sure to wash them before I put them into my cages and to be sure they haven’t been sprayed by any chemicals as well. I think that’s everything covered Would love to hear how I can make it better for my birds Thanks Lozza
  3. How often do you give this to the birds? i was thinking once a month - would this be enough? Thanks Lozza
  4. So it is one drop, and one drop only? as in it never needs to be put on again in X amount of days/months? Thats one thing i didnt realise, lucky there are experienced members here to help out the unsure Thanks for posting this Lozza
  5. Hi guys, I just have a few questions about invermectin – I know it’s a monthly (every 4 weeks) treatment which is just a drop to the back of neck. However im unsure how much it costs or what quantities it can be purchased in. Also what does it treat? – Pretty sure its mites and worms but is anything else treated by Invermectin? Thank you in advance! lozza
  6. Sorry i meant the bird at the front not back...silly me The yellowface has brown...i believe that makes her cinnamon wing? Thanks for the quick reply Lozza

  10. Hello everyone, Its been a very long time since my last visit here, but i have a question to ask about this beautiful girl. http://i651.photobucket.com/albums/uu233/Brplat/Yellow1.jpg As the photo is bad i will also explain her... She doesnt have a red eye or full black eye No wing markings Lighter yellow on the tips of the wings and tail Any help would be fantastic!

  14. Hello Everyone, I need some help classing these two budgies...i was planing to breed with them not show (as i accidently stated before sorry.... First Budgie (Rainbowish one to the left) Second Budgie (Blue one) Any Help would be great!
  15. i would say he was a opaline not a dominant pied, either way he looks like a very pretty bird
  16. i have seen afew cases of scaly face before but never that bad, but they do seem to be getting lots better by the photos so good luck with the treatment and i hope they have a full recovery!
  17. those are some terrific results for your first show, congratulations and by the way your birds are very beautiful!
  18. i agree with Paul with the never give up because basically numbers of fertile eggs vary each season the same with the number of eggs layed so if i was you i would keep trying and hopefully you can get some little ones soon
  19. that last bird is exactly what ive been looking for over here...also the bird you said was a double factor spangle(Sherbie) looks more like a male to me by the pinkish cere but i would say if it has a red eye it would be lutino if it has a black eye maybe more along the lines of recessive pied....but the photos arent the clearest so im not positive (about 99.9% sure about Sherbie being a male though )
  20. okay thanks for the help with that guys
  21. hi everyone, i have always wondered how i would be able to get these 3 colours....Yellow Faced Grey, Yellow Faced Sky Blue and just Normal Grey. i know to get normal grey you must breed a grey to a grey or a grey to a grey green (Grey to Grey having more chance of getting Grey) but is there any other conbinations that have a chance of getting Grey? also i have always liked the Yellow Faced Greys and Yellow Faced sky Blues (pictures below are taken from a book i have) and i wanted to know what i must breed to get them. thanks for any help you can give me Grey Yellow Blue Yellow
