  1. hugs birdie

I am no expert and I know they will come. I would watch and see what the mother does, and yes if she doesn't feed them, don't wait just get in there and start. If she new at this too? Where is the father? They help with the feeding too.

  2. Oz is doing good. He still doesn't particularly like me but he tolerates me. :D

There is such a difference from handling them from practically day 1 (Blinks) and then getting them older from the pet store. Oz will probably be more bird bird. I can't wait until they met ;).

  3. oh they are all so cute, if you look at the babies from the side views you can see the bars better to the cere, granted they are not super dark but I can see them ever so slightly.

So question, where your outcomes doing it the genetic way, the same outcome that came out natures way?

  4. Hugs Terri, I can imagine how you feel - been there before with my other pets, and the waiting is horrible.

okay, not being a vet I did do some looking up, found some articles doesn't mean this is what either bird has but worth reading.

There was also a great post in the health section where someone's bird had a lump but it was already large and open - and what they did for treatment. You may want to see if you can find that.

    Here are the articles:

    (for the lump) http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cl...&articleid=2755

I doubt this but the bird can get yellow stool per this article

    http://www.multiscope.com/hotspot/psittacosis.htm

Go down to dropping involving the urinary track http://www.netpets.com/birds/reference/laf...f_dropping.html

I could probably search on and on but until you see the vet that is when you will know the real answer. Try not to stress yourself (like I know it is impossible for you) but focus on the good, positive and it will be okay.

You are a good mom Terri...keep us updated.

  5. well being nervous and scared can cause the poo to change temporarily and make it runny, I have experienced that with Pretty and have read that. So the key is to find out what why he is frightened and how you can ease him into feeling more secure.

  6. Thanks lovey, you have become a professional overngiht!...(Laughing out loud) :)

So, to sum it up, i would need a male who has made blue babies before, or one that has made pieds before? Would an olive green not mean that hes split to blue?..same with a green that has a lot of blue in the plumage?....The breeder has several lime green opalines, olive greens, normals greens, and a stunning dominant pied blue cinnamon male that i was going to get, but he wants to keep it now... :( ..(Laughing out loud)

    Kirby :D

A professional overnight :) not quite, did a lot of bugging Nerwen, Rainbow and Hurdy

i would need a male who has made blue babies before, or one that has made pieds before? YES

Would an olive green not mean that hes split to blue?..same with a green that has a lot of blue in the plumage?. NO Olive green means that the bird has 2 dark factors - nothing to do with the blue gene.

Green budgies have a yellow base. As for the blue feathers in a green bird, the body feathers are structured to reflect blue. In yellow-based budgies the blue in the body feathers combines with the yellow base pigment, which results in a bright green. (I hope this explanation makes sense)
