  1. I agree here with Casper it is like that in the U.S., as for POA you should do that too, you fill out a form and then it goes through a lawyer, I have POA for my mother.
  2. Respiratory Infections can also be caused be Vitamin A deficiency, anything in your home that is toxic that can irritate the lining of your birds lungs. Respiratory Infections are one of the most common reasons why birds die.
  3. I think if you want to keep them semi trained as you mention you are best adding 1 at a time (and of course make sure you quarentine) when you add 3 or more into a setting you will lose control, if you want more birds you may think of a larger aviary setting. Also I don't think I know do you have a large cage? If so what is the size?

Merlin and Roxie were riding on Deb's shoulder as they were so tamed and would never fly away but then a BIG gust of wind blew them right away and off flew Roxie and Merlin on a new adventure into the great big yonder...
  5. To promote good bacteria yogurt can be given in small amounts.
  6. make sure you put that with each post, SW has a good point so people don't think you are copy and pasting, keep the information coming

Yes (especially when I am at the computer ) Do you fall asleep during movies all the time?
  8. As Kaz said it really depends on the bird, show birds are a heavier bird while pet budgies are lighter. Here is a good article that is missed in our FAQ about Weighing your Budgie http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/faqs/i...&artlang=en
  9. good luck in getting rid of your visitors
  10. another way is to simply buy a scale so you can weigh them too

Yes Do you like to watch sports?
  12. Don't forget to quarantine, also know that the more you add the less tame they are to you, so if you want a strong bond with your budgies you need to create it with the ones you have first before you add unless the taming thing is not an issue (for many it is not especially if they want an aviary situation).
  13. Good point Kaz, plus breeding is not just throwing them in together there are many more aspect and issues that can arise, I think your best bet would be to search around and find yourself a YF Grey personally, why breed when there are birds that need homes too.
  14. My Pretty would do that he actually felt more comfortable going out on his own. Do you find if you leave the door open and let her come out on her own it is better or will she not come out at all? With Pretty I would only feed him millet when he did what was asked like step-up, go back in the cage, come out of the cage. So if I wanted him out I would entice him with millet to come out and then he could have the spray when he was out or the opposite when I wanted him back in I would only give it to him in the cage. They are very smart and get the point quickly. I find that birds tend to be more scared of the human hand in the cage because that is where they are forced to do something or they were grabbed at one point to be forced to come out or get their nails or wings clipped. Think back when you first got her was there an episode where your hand freaked her out? Even something slight that you think might have not been that big of a deal.
  15. have you noticed when she does this most? Is it only during certain times like a molt, her cere is brown and crusty? Or all the time?
  16. Elly replied to Tromax's topic in Budgie Talk
well you have to be the boss I have to say and you need to train him to go back in, think if you had to leave in a hurry and you couldn't get him back in, I would work on training him now.
  17. I agree with Kaz, I know how you feel in the aspect of lossing such a good friend I have had 2 loss over the last 2 years that results in Pretty passing away our budgie & our 18y old mixed breed shephard there is such a void there. ((hugs))

Does he like millet? or a toy that he really likes? These are the tools I would use to entice him to go back, as said birds know how to get back , I think he is having a fun time with you.
  24. With horse food it is designed for a horse and my concern would be the protein levels and other levels that may be higher then what would be recommended in budgie food. I don't think I would do it but that is me.
