Your Avian Vet

I'm working on a few little topics to use as stickies and one of them is a list of avian vets and links to avian vets.

If you have a very good avian vet and would like to share his/her information (name, location, etc.) please reply here. I'll eventually combine all the information into one neat, tidy post and hopefully the mods will sticky it. :)

Also, if you know of a particularly good link to avian vets, please share it as well.

Thanks in advance!

There was a link in one of the posts that was put up in the last few weeks. I got a contact in my area from it. I'll try to find it eterri. Or if someone knows of it, can they post it.

Heres one

Thanks! :)

this link has avian vets listed by county in the UK. it is a list of all the stockists that supply harrisons pellets and so will have a number of avian patients. :D (some of them are actually shops, so those will just have to be weeded out and all the vet clinics left on the list). the shops have (advisors) written underneath the name of the stockists.

I'd like to recommend Particia Macwirther in Australia:

128 Burwood Hwy, Burwood

ph. (03) 9808-9011

I took my previous budgie to her when he was ill, and I took my current budgie to her when he broke his leg not long after I got him. She knows her stuff, and she's very professional.

Just letting you know through my experiences that Dr Kober and Dr Weger(I think that’s how you spell it) are the only two avian vets in the city that I would chance it with. Weger is at north Calgary and is usually there in the evenings when you can’t get a hold of Kober, but working for petland (all their blue and gold macaws at least in south Calgary have or have had parrot fever watch out!) some vet in shawnessy squeezed a cockatiel chicks crop so hard during a exam that it passed away about 10 minutes later of asphyxiation (sp?) followed by an oh well at least the other two are healthy. Just watch out, a lot of wanna be avian vets in our city! Weger and Kober that’s what I tell all the new fid owners that come through my door.
