Posted September 3, 200816 yr We have made the decision to have atleast one more child but we are hoping for a girl( not that we would be really unhappy if it was a boy though). I know there are a few old wives tales floating around about how to get the sex of the baby that you want, everything from particular foods to other more :ahem: 'private' methods. Has anyone tried any of these and had success? If you have but you maybe don't want to talk about it on the open forum then feel free to PM me. Edited September 3, 200816 yr by melbournebudgies
September 3, 200816 yr I heard scientists found a way to give you a certain gendered embryo... but I can't remember how they did it now... bugger... If worst comes to worst like you said, you'll get a boy, but the main thing is a healthy child a couple down the road had one boy tried for a girl and got another boy so tried for a girl again and got twin boys... they gave up after that lol Then my friends brother has 4 girls haha... I guess some people are just destined to have all same sex children hehe
September 3, 200816 yr Author I recall a study that found that women with higher testosterone levels tend to get boys. The ones that tend to get girls tend to be the girly girls, into shopping, fashion, etc. It's quite an interesting thing when you think about yourself. I'm a bit of a tomboy and I've ended up with two boys so far
September 3, 200816 yr Don't know if that study is true... My friends sister-in-law isn't really girly at all :s Infact the complete opposite hehe and they had 4 girls Same with the people with 4 boys, the mothers extremly petite...
September 3, 200816 yr Conceiving a Girl To actively work at conceiving a girl, you must know your cycle. Chart your cycle for a couple of months to see what day you begin your period and what day you are ovulating. You can do this using an ovulation kit or basal temperature. Then, once you know the day you will ovulate, begin having sex immediately following the end of your period. Have sex at least once a day until two or three days before ovulation. Then stop. (Sorry, guys.) Y-carrying sperm swim faster than X-carrying sperm. The boy-makers also tend to die out more quickly. By stopping three days before ovulation, you are ensuring the only sperm left waiting around for the released egg are the longer-lasting, slow-swimming X-carriers. (Sperm can live up to 5-7 days inside a woman’s body.) When the remaining sperm meet up with the egg, it is far more likely an X sperm will get the honors. Doctor Shettles also suggests having sex in the missionary position to deposit sperm as close to the entrance of the ****** as possible. He also suggests the woman not orgasm during sex (Sorry, girls.) An orgasm can make the vaginal environment alkaline which can kill off sperm more quickly preventing any pregnancy. It is worth a shot.
September 3, 200816 yr Author Yeah except it doesn't work for me because I have a contraceptive implant and I don't get cycles while I'm on it. The doc is going to remove it in November for me and then she wants me to wait atleast two months before concieving to make sure everything settles beack to how it should be, it doesn't leave me much time to work out the specifics of when. I'm going to look into the diet recommendations, apparently dairy and legumes are good for girls. Apparently a diet high in calcium and magnesium favours girls which is really interesting given at my last blood test I was mildly low on both these, maybe that explains my boys! At any rate I'll definately stop being slack and forgetting to take my supplements Edited September 3, 200816 yr by melbournebudgies
September 3, 200816 yr I see what you mean about being short on time. I guess it depends on how regular to get after the implant is out.
September 3, 200816 yr He Mb - I have the implant too We planed Dylan and Planned for a boy we followed the wives tall... with talia she was a SUPRISE :hap: but looking at the conception date it was right ... Now i have a little surprise for you http://www.ovulation-calculator.com/ttc-to...ption-chart.htm This isn't the chart i used But i can't find the one i used it was SPOT ON ..
September 3, 200816 yr Author Well that doesn't help me at all Neat! I'll be turning 26 in December which means I won't get a girl month until June! And that ain't gonna work since hubby will be overseas then and not back until October! I think we'll just have to do as much of the other stuff as possible and take our chances . Short on time Libby because I only get the implant out in November and then I have to wait until atleast January to concieve and then hubby heads overseas in March and not back until October. The methods AV outlined above requitre a few months of monitoring your cycles so that you know when is the optimum time of month to concieve. We were hoping to time it so I was due about a month after he gets back from overseas all going well. Edited September 3, 200816 yr by melbournebudgies

Ask me Ask me I have all one sex Planned....mmmm.... well the first one was :hap: That chart is interesting Neat, my 3rd and 4th should be girls???? It is the males sperm that decides the sex of the child and if he eats a lot of salt stop him now if you want a girl! Edited September 3, 200816 yr by Denise
September 3, 200816 yr Author Nah Denise the salty theory is only important for the woamn as it is to do with the affect of our food on the ionic composition of scretions 'down there' (since it will edit out the correct term) Boy sperm prefer an alkaline pH on their way to the egg so this is achieved by the woman eating lots of foods high in salt and potassium, whereas girl sperm can handle higher acidity so they are favoured by foods high in calcium and magnesium. Apparently tests showed that the blokes diet really didn't make any difference to the sex if children(but can affect overall fertility of course)
September 3, 200816 yr That doesn't add up in my case then as I don't eat anything with salt and eat more dairy than anything. One of the top gynecologist at the hospital told me about the salt thing in men when I was having my 4th child and the ultrasound showed a boy he said to me that my husband must eat a lot of salt to have produced all boys. Edited September 3, 200816 yr by Denise
September 3, 200816 yr Author Don't ask me, I hardly eat any salt and still ended up with two boys From what I can tell boys are kind of the default, while girls are a bit harder to get, so you mainly need to be careful with diets and dates, etc if you are after a girl. September 3, 200816 yr I remember hearing something about the jocks/undies etc... the guy wears can influence what you have. I can't remember which way it is though... But I think it is if he wears briefs, and therefor his 'bits' are keep warmer as they would be snug as a bug in a rug (warmer), then you'll have a boy and if he wears boxers, his 'bits' will be loose and free and therefor cooler, then you'll have a girl.... so what ever jocks your hubby currently wears... make him change to the opposite!!!
September 3, 200816 yr Author More research say a hot bath before you do the deed increases the chances of girls. Here's a scary one for you: Hubby tells me that more often after the blokes have been off on the big ships their partners have girls because the big radars fry the boy swimmers!
September 3, 200816 yr Author Well purchased some supplements today to take care of my 'deficiencies' ( ). I am terribly prone to anaemia plus recent tests showed my calcium and magnesium levels were low (which it sounds like may have contributed to me having boys!) So for atleast the next couple of months I am on: calcium(and Vitamin D), magnesium, iron, folate and a general multivitamin (which is low in the things I am taking as extra so it is fine to take them at the same time)!!! Atleast I know I am keeping my local pharmacist in business
September 3, 200816 yr I used the Chinese Calender worked for both my kids and my sisters to predicate the sex
September 3, 200816 yr Actually girls are the default sex. If there is no testosterone supply in pregnancy all foetuses (even one with Y chromosomes) will revert to the female body. That is why you can get some women who are genetically male, but are physically pure woman. Maesie, I heard that theory, but the other way round. No undies means colder bits so therefore boy sperms. Warmer bits means girl sperms. Apparently the Croc hunter used that method to conceive his son. Wonder which way round it is?
September 3, 200816 yr Author Boxers favours boys, briefs favours girls Yes I know what you mean by girls being the default sex SW, that wasn't quite what I meant. It is easier to get boys because most people just go at it all guns blazing in the hope of getting pregnant but girl sperm are actually favoured by abstaining during certain times, etc. therefore by trying too hard people often favour having boys.
September 3, 200816 yr Well with Aaron we tried and had a lot of sex and Hailey it was BAM what a night hehe....anyways...I am blessed with God gives they are both very healthy and bright.
September 4, 200816 yr okay So that gender chart I posted wasn't the same one i used i couldn't remember which one it was but the page is different ... okay if your heart is set on having a girl then wait till he gets back ( that way he is there to rub your feet and for you to complain too LMAO ) and the boys would be fired :hap: that sounds horrible lol .. I wish you all the best ( when you carve the Dairy Products its a girl when it is Meat and Savory it is a boy ) well that was with me and spot on it was :hap:
