I'm new to the forum and looking for some advice. I had a budgie a long time ago when I was a child and am now planning to get a couple more. I was lucky to find a wonderful local breeder with several chicks almost ready for new homes. The babies are hand raised and very friendly. I'm planning to get 2 budgies. Would it be better to get 2 from the same clutch or to get 1 now and then get another in a few weeks when the next clutch is ready for new homes. The parents of the current babies are not the same as the parents of the babies expected in the next few days. I'm not planning to breed them if that makes a difference. Your advice is much appreciated. Thank you. Mike Link to comment

But it may be easier to get them from different clutches just incase you did ever want to breed them. Thanks Link to comment

Really up to you, I mean they are unlikely to breed without something to breed in, so really doesn't matter. Also you might want different colour mutations depends on what the others turn out like. You could probably start to tame one before you got the other budgie if you got them from separate clutches. Easier as the other bird can't disrupt the training. Link to comment
