September 14, 201014 yr lime-kiln, or it will not? Hi Viktor! Welcome to the forum! If you are asking whether lime will kill the budgie or not, I think it won't. Oranges are good for budgies, so I think limes would be, too. (My apologies if you meant something else! ) If you are concerned about the disinfectants used in cleaning your new apartment, I guess it depends on what you have used. In my home, I try not to use anything with a strong odor, or anything that emits fumes. If I have to use those things, I try to take the bird cage out of the room and/or open the windows and run a fan until all of the odor is gone. To check your birds for respiratory distress, look for brown stains above their ceres. I'm sorry, I can't tell you why your budgie would be scratching at his eye. The only similar thing I had once, was when one of them was moulting, and he had quite a few tiny pin feathers coming in all around his eyelid, and then his eyelid looked red and puffy for a little while. I was alarmed, until I looked really closely and saw that it was just pin feathers. The redness and puffiness lasted less than half an hour, and then he looked okay. Maybe if you can post a picture of the problem eye, someone on here could recognize what is wrong?
September 15, 201014 yr It would be a good idea to get the eye checked out by a vet as many things can cause irritation to and around the eye.
