Hey guys,
If you've seen my previous post, i made a new pairing in my breeding cage about a week ago.. The male was previously paired to another female but i split him up to go with a new female.
However the breeding cage is in the aviary where his old mate was and I have seen them regurgitating food to eachother through the breeding cage wire front. He doesnt really show any signs of affection towards the female in the breeding cage but they still seem to both go in the breeding box for short periods (couple of minutes) during the day.
I know i should probably just be patient but i feel that I wont get any positive results if he is still 'interacting' with his previous mate. Should i take the breeding cage out of the aviary so he can breed with the female or will they get over it and settle down in the next couple of weeks?
The pair that I am trying to breed are both over a year old. There is another male in the aviary with the female and he trys to peck her away when she's near the male in the breeding cage but is unsuccessful.
Some answers would be very helpful.
