i have had snowdrop for 3 weeks and is in quarentein at the moment a few days ago i noticed she had some crusty discharge around her eye. i rung up pets at home to see if they have had any similar problems which they didnt, he asked a little about it and thought it might be because of her not getting veg (she wont eat) i didnt agree as i have had skittle on a seed only diet (his choice) for 18 months and have had no problem like this. so he said if i took her to their vets they would pick up the bill which was a bonus.

the vet though i was mites at first for the description i had given over the phone which when she saw her was clearly not the case. i have to give her eyedrops twice a day for 7 days and go back next week. this is proving more difficult than it sounds as he isnt tame but thats another story. the following pictures were taken after 3 doses of the treatment.

 So glad your bird is under vet care, don't like the way the eye looks and hopefully you will see an improvement soon with the medications. :)

snowdrops doing well thanks for asking :)

i have to take him back to the vets later today so i will let you know what she says, but i think it has cleared up, there is no fresh discharge just the old crusting up, i wasnt sure how to clean it off without reinfecting they eye so i have left it and im going to ask the vet today. i just hope that is doesnt put back snowdrop meeting skittle, its 30 days tomorrow w00t =D
