I really want to be prepared for my next budgie (which I MAY be getting this weekend!! :hap: ) But when I have new budgie out for flight time, can I have it play on Bobby's new playgym in a different room??? May 5, 200619 yr no, don't let him on the equipment your othther birds use, if the new bird has a disease it can be passed on to the existing birds. Perhaps you can make some toys up for the new one - they can be used by both birds when quarantine finisheds *Please excuse typing, a beak is helping me!*
May 5, 200619 yr Yeah, don't use the same gym/toys. When i got Ozzie i also got a new gym. Blinkie got the big new one and Ozzie got Blinkie's old gym. :hap:
May 5, 200619 yr how exciting pretty soon, same here no sharing. Pretty is in the big cage as of now and I am going to clean out his cage for Merlin until the met.
May 5, 200619 yr Hey Riebie, that's really exciting that you're getting another one!! I'm a bit neurotic sometimes when it comes to quarantine.. hehe.. If I play with the new birds, I make sure I wash all my clothes afterwards and I have a bath and wash my hair too!! If I just hold them to check on them and stuff, like a quick thing, then I only wash my hands thoroughly. The birds are kept in an always shut room, so no chances of the existing bird accidentally fly into that room. Like I said before, i can get a bit neurotic with quarantine.. :hap: but you can never be too sure!!
